This job posting is for an existing vacancy We’re looking for our next Director, DevOps & Platform Engineering. Could It Be You? The role requires a leader with proven experience running 24x7 production operations and incident response for critical systems in regulated or high-availability environments. The candidate must have hands-on experience serving as the senior operational escalation point, leading major-incident triage, orchestrating cross-functional responses, and managing executive, customer, and regulatory communications. Need more details? Keep reading… In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Demonstrating readiness and history of serving as the designated 24x7 executive escalation contact for high-severity platform outages and production incidents

Having a proven ability to step in as the senior incident commander during critical system failures to coordinate cross-functional technical teams (SRE, Engineering, Security, Architecture, and Enterprise Technology).

Experiencing directing escalation workflows involving external service providers, hosting vendors, and shared services supporting after-hours coverage.

Tracking record of designing, staffing, and operating sustainable 24x7 coverage models, including evaluating and implementing follow-the-sun, dedicated overnight shifts, or hybrid staffing structures.

Having practical experience setting on-call policies—balancing primary and secondary rotation load, managing compensation or time off in lieu, standardizing shift handoffs, and actively mitigating on-call engineer burnout.

Planning and safeguarding operations during periods of elevated risk, including release windows, bank holidays, migrations, and seasonal transaction peaks

Establishing clear incident severity tiers with defined response and restoration time targets.

Having a history of embedding a blameless post-incident review (PIR) culture focused on systemic analysis, preventative remediation, and ongoing tracking of follow-up action items.

Demonstrating work in refining paging criteria, eliminating alert fatigue, reducing repeat pages, and maintaining high-quality, actionable operational runbooks.

Understanding systems for cross-training, operational documentation retention, and runbook updates to prevent institutional knowledge silos during live triage.

Experiencing directly briefing executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders during live outages regarding impact, remediation steps, and resolution ETAs

Adhering to strict notification frameworks for end users, institutional clients, and financial regulators during material disruptions.

Adhering to strict notification frameworks for end users, institutional clients, and financial regulators during material disruptions.

Collaborating directly with Security Operations and the CISO on complex incidents where security threats (e.g., breaches, configuration vulnerabilities) and operational service disruptions coincide

Ensuring centralized security logging, telemetry, and system visibility are readily accessible to accelerate investigation and resolution during an active threat.

Designing and executing proactive disaster-recovery drills, business continuity testing, failure-injection scenarios, and game-day simulations

Enforcing rigorous operational readiness assessments prior to production launches—verifying automated rollbacks, monitoring coverage, capacity, and runbooks are in place before services go live.

Tracking and presenting operational KPIs to senior leadership, specifically Availability, Time to Detect (TTD), Time to Restore (TTR), recurring incident patterns, and toil reduction metrics.

So are YOU our next Director, DevOps & Platform Engineering? You are if you…

Have 10+ years of progressive experience across Infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Cloud Engineering, or Platform Engineering.

Have a 5+ years of experience leading and developing technical engineering teams.

Have a proven experience building and managing a 24x7 production operations or on-call function for business-critical systems.

Have hands-on experience running major-incident response and post-incident review (PIR) processes, including direct communication with executive stakeholders during active incidents.

Have deep practical knowledge of SRE frameworks, including defining and managing Service-Level Objectives (SLOs), Service-Level Indicators (SLIs), error budgets, availability targets, and capacity planning

Have deep experience designing and running production workloads in AWS or comparable public cloud environments.

Have strong proficiency with IaC and automation frameworks such as Terraform

Have a solid understanding of cloud networking, Identity and Access Management (IAM), secrets and certificate management, and platform security hardening

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
