SENIOR MECHANICAL PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

Join our product development team

Mechanical Product Development • Robust Design • Plastics • From Design To Production-ready Product

Location: Allerød, north of Copenhagen • Function: R&D / Product Development

Do you enjoy the engineering disciplines that turn a good mechanical design into a robust product design that works reliably in the real world?

Qufora is a growing, design-focused medical device company. We develop intuitive products that help people with chronic bowel disorders live a more fulfilled life.

We have a relatively small and flat organisation, which means short distances from idea to decision and from decision to action. You will be close to the products, the technical decisions and the people who make them—with the opportunity to influence both the engineering solutions and how we work.

The engineering role

This is a role for someone who enjoys the fundamentals of good mechanical engineering and knows how to combine them into robust design solutions. Understanding variation and sensitivity to design products that perform consistently despite real-world variation in components, materials, processes and use.

  • Interface & mechanical design – create well-defined interfaces and mechanically sound solutions without unnecessary constraints or complexity.
  • Tolerances & GPS/GD&T – translate functional needs into meaningful dimensions and tolerances, using tolerance stack-ups and statistical tolerancing where relevant.
  • Mechanics & structural integrity – apply solid mechanics, engineering calculations and FEA where appropriate to understand loads, deformation, strength, fatigue and failure modes.
  • Materials & plastics – select materials based on function, environment, manufacturing process and long-term product performance.
  • DFM/DFA & injection moulding – develop designs that can be manufactured and assembled consistently and at the required quality, working closely with toolmakers, suppliers and Operations.
  • Variation & statistical analysis – use data and statistical methods to understand variation, identify critical parameters and build robustness into the design.

You will not be placed in a narrow technical box. Depending on the challenge, you may move from CAD and tolerance analysis to material selection, supplier discussions, FEA, design reviews, verification results or solving a difficult mechanical problem in an existing product.

What you will do

You will take senior technical ownership of mechanical development activities, particularly in the later stages of product development.

You will:

  • Develop and mature mechanical solutions from established concepts through detailed design, verification, design transfer and launch.
  • Create high-quality 3D designs and clear, production-ready 2D drawings.
  • Drive difficult mechanical issues to root cause and closure.
  • Work hands-on with plastics, injection-moulded components, interfaces, tolerances, materials and robust design.
  • Work closely with Operations, external manufacturers, suppliers and toolmakers to turn designs into stable, manufacturable products.
  • Lead and coordinate mechanical engineering activities when several people or disciplines need to contribute.
  • Help strengthen our mechanical engineering methods, standards and ways of working.

What we are looking for

You have a BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Product Development or a similar discipline and at least 8 years of experience in mechanical product development.

Ideally, you bring several of the following:

  • Strong mechanical design fundamentals and engineering judgement.
  • Experience with plastic product design and injection moulding.
  • Advanced 3D CAD and 2D drawing skills, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO GPS/GD&T, tolerance analysis and robust design.
  • Experience with DFM/DFA, materials, mechanics and preferably FEA.
  • Experience taking products from detailed development through verification and into production.
  • The ability to structure complex technical work and drive issues to completion.

Experience from medical devices or another regulated industry is an advantage, but first and foremost, we are looking for a strong mechanical product developer.

Why Qufora?

At Qufora, you will work broadly across mechanical engineering disciplines and follow products through the development process rather than being limited to one narrow area. You will be close to the products, colleagues and decisions, with the opportunity to influence both engineering solutions and how we work. And because we develop medical devices, your engineering decisions ultimately matter to people who rely on our products every day.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
