At Quincy Medical Group, you are supported to do your best work and make a meaningful impact every day. You will be part of a collaborative, physician-led team that works as one and puts patients at the center of everything we do.

With a connected network of providers, care teams, and services across primary and specialty care, surgery centers, imaging, lab, and therapy, you are part of a system designed to deliver high-quality, coordinated care. Together, we create an environment where you can grow, contribute, and help improve the experience and outcomes for every patient we serve.

About the Role

As a Polysomnographic Technician or Trainee at Quincy Medical Group, you will help perform comprehensive sleep studies used to identify and evaluate sleep disorders. This opportunity is open to experienced sleep technicians as well as individuals developing their skills in polysomnography through hands-on training.

Working under the general supervision of a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), clinical director, or designee, you will prepare patients for testing, operate specialized equipment, monitor sleep studies, and provide a safe and comfortable patient experience. Trainees will receive guidance and progressively take on responsibilities as required competencies are demonstrated.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Primarily three 12-hour overnight shifts per week, 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM, scheduled Sunday through Friday based on department needs.
  • This role involves direct patient care, overnight sleep testing, continuous monitoring, and operation of specialized diagnostic equipment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for sleep testing by explaining procedures, applying monitoring equipment, and helping patients feel comfortable throughout their study.
  • Prepare, calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot polysomnographic equipment to support accurate data collection.
  • Collect and monitor sleep study data, recognizing changes in study quality and making appropriate adjustments within demonstrated competency.
  • Monitor patient condition throughout testing and implement appropriate interventions, including CPAP, BiPAP, and oxygen administration, according to established protocols and level of training.
  • Recognize and score sleep stages and clinical events, including respiratory and cardiac events, limb movements, and arousals.
  • Accurately document patient observations, testing information, interventions, and study data.
  • Perform routine equipment care, cleaning, and maintenance.
  • Complete required training, competencies, and continuing education to support professional development in polysomnography.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Sleep Center operations.

Qualifications

  • CPR certification required.
  • Polysomnographic Technician candidates must meet one of the following: successful completion of a polysomnography program of at least one year through a state-licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility; a minimum of six months of experience as a Polysomnographic Trainee with documented proficiency in required competencies; or eligibility for the RPSGT exam according to AASM guidelines within one year of employment.
  • Trainee candidates should demonstrate the ability and commitment to develop the technical and patient-care skills necessary to perform polysomnographic testing through structured training and competency development.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and patient care skills.
  • Ability to learn specialized equipment, testing protocols, and clinical procedures.
  • Ability to work independently as competencies are achieved while recognizing when assistance or escalation is needed.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits that include healthcare navigation assistance.
  • Access to a mental health benefit at no cost.
  • Employer provided life and disability insurance.
  • $5,250 Tuition Reimbursement per year.
  • Immediate 401(k) match.
  • 40 hours paid volunteer time off.
  • A culture committed to community engagement and social impact.
  • Up to 12 weeks parental leave at 100% pay and a financial benefit for adoption and surrogacy for non-physician team members once eligibility requirements are met.

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $21.60 - $32.40 per hour for Polysomnographic Trainee, or $23.81 - $35.72 per hour for Polysomnographic Technologist determined by position level, experience, education, skills, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
