We are seeking a commercially driven Senior Director of Business Development to lead growth across the West Coast territory, driving new business opportunities for our Translational Pharmaceutics® and Clinical Pharmacology services. This is a high-impact role for an experienced business development professional who thrives on winning new business, building strategic client relationships and helping customers solve complex drug development challenges. The Opportunity Reporting to the Executive Director, Business Development, you will be responsible for identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities across Quotient Sciences' integrated CRDMO offering. A strong hunter mentality is essential. While the territory includes a portfolio of existing accounts, success in this role will be driven by your ability to consistently generate and win new business from emerging biotech, specialty pharma and large pharmaceutical organizations. You will sell a differentiated solution that few organizations can offer: the ability to integrate formulation development, on-demand GMP manufacturing and clinical pharmacology studies within a single development pathway. By leveraging Translational Pharmaceutics®, you'll help clients accelerate programs, generate clinical data earlier and make better development decisions faster. The successful candidate will bring strong market awareness across early development, clinical pharmacology and drug product development, combined with exceptional sales, networking and relationship-building skills. Regular travel throughout the West Coast territory, attendance at industry conferences and visits to Quotient Sciences' US and UK facilities will be required. Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a territory strategy aligned with revenue, growth and market penetration objectives. Drive new business opportunities across Quotient Sciences' integrated CRDMO service offering. Promote and position Translational Pharmaceutics® and Clinical Pharmacology services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Identify, qualify and secure new business opportunities across formulation development, clinical pharmacology, GMP manufacturing and commercial supply services. Build and maintain senior-level relationships with scientific, operational and executive stakeholders. Educate customers on the value of integrating development, manufacturing and clinical testing within a single partner model. Lead the complete sales lifecycle from opportunity identification through proposal development, negotiation and contract execution. Partner with technical, operational and scientific teams to develop compelling client solutions. Drive territory growth while maintaining commercially appropriate project margins. Lead customer presentations, commercial negotiations and strategic business reviews. Expand existing customer relationships while continually generating opportunities with new clients. Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting and account information within Salesforce. Represent Quotient Sciences at conferences, partnering events, trade shows and customer meetings. Remain informed of industry developments, competitive activity, emerging technologies and market trends within the small molecule development landscape.
What You'll Bring Required
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. Significant business development, sales or commercial account management experience within the pharmaceutical services sector. Demonstrated success selling CRO, CDMO or integrated CRDMO services. Proven track record of generating new business and consistently delivering revenue growth. Experience managing complex pharmaceutical development opportunities through to contract execution. Strong understanding of the drug development lifecycle, particularly within early development environments. Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship-management skills. Experience using Salesforce or a comparable CRM platform. Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%.
Preferred
Experience selling Clinical Pharmacology, Phase I clinical research, drug product development, formulation development or manufacturing services. Strong understanding of small molecule drug development. Experience selling integrated development solutions involving multiple service lines. Existing relationships within West Coast pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Understanding of the strategic value of accelerating programs through integrated development models such as Translational Pharmaceutics®.
