Design Assistant (Part-Time Contract)

R Studio Lights · Bukit Merah, Singapore

About us R Studio Lights is a Singapore-based lighting specialist. We are a small, close team, and everyone’s work shows in the final result.

The role We are looking for a part-time Design Assistant to support our Project Manager with design and submission work. You will work under the direction and mentorship of our Director and Project Manager.

What you will do

  • Prepare and update lighting layouts and drawings in AutoCAD
  • Perform lighting calculations (we will train you in the lighting software)
  • Incorporate revisions quickly and accurately, and keep drawing versions organised
  • Support the preparation of project submissions
  • Raise questions early when something is unclear or doesn’t add up

What we are looking for

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and able to produce clean, accurate drawings independently
  • Learns fast: you pick up new software and our way of working quickly
  • Common sense: you notice errors and inconsistencies, and check before guessing
  • Takes instruction well: you follow mark-ups precisely and take feedback in your stride
  • Reliable and disciplined with deadlines

Nice to have (optional)

  • Other drawing or design software, such as AGi32 or DIALux
  • Experience in lighting, interior design or architecture

Work arrangement

  • Part-time contract, [duration, e.g. 6 months, extendable]
  • Three working days a week, chosen from Monday to Friday and fixed at the start
  • 9:00am to 6:00pm on working days
  • Based at our office in Bukit Merah Central
  • Probation 3 months

On timelines Our projects run to fixed deadlines, however many days you work each week. We expect you to plan your three days well, tell us how your work is progressing and hand over clearly at the end of each day, so that deadlines are met.
