Job Description

Rakbank is embarking on a transformative journey aimed at redefining customer experience through innovation, agility, and digital excellence. We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Test Engineer - WBG & Treasury to join our Technology team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, stability, and reliability of our Wholesale Banking and Treasury platforms.

The successful candidate will lead the testing strategy and quality assurance activities across a complex banking ecosystem encompassing corporate channels and H2H connectivity, Transaction Banking, Trade Finance, Treasury, FX, digital channels, APIs, middleware, and core banking platforms. This role requires a strong blend of banking domain expertise, quality engineering leadership, automation knowledge, and stakeholder management to ensure business-critical solutions are delivered with confidence and minimal risk.

You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product teams, architects, engineering teams, operations, and external vendors to establish robust testing practices, drive automation and AI-enabled quality initiatives, and provide clear quality and release readiness assessments across the domain.

What You Will Do:

Define and Drive Domain Test Strategy

  • Develop and implement a practical, risk-based testing strategy aligned with RAKBANK's Quality Engineering framework.
  • Determine appropriate test coverage across products, platforms, integrations, and business processes.
  • Tailor testing approaches according to business criticality, regulatory considerations, complexity, and delivery timelines.

Protect Critical Banking and Treasury Journeys

  • Lead testing across Corporate Banking channels, H2H integrations, payments, cash management, liquidity solutions, virtual accounts, sweeping, trade finance, Treasury, and FX platforms.
  • Validate end-to-end transaction journeys from initiation through processing, settlement, and reconciliation.
  • Ensure testing covers exception scenarios, transaction failures, reversals, and operational edge cases.

Build and Maintain Sustainable Regression Coverage

  • Develop and continuously enhance a comprehensive domain-level regression suite covering critical business journeys.
  • Ensure regression coverage evolves alongside platform, product, and integration changes.
  • Improve release confidence through meaningful and risk-focused test coverage.

Drive Test Automation and AI Adoption

  • Champion test automation and AI-assisted quality engineering practices across the testing lifecycle.
  • Evaluate and implement innovative approaches including BDD, TDD, and AI-enabled test design and execution.
  • Ensure automated and AI-generated tests deliver reliable, auditable, and compliant outcomes.
  • Measure and report tangible improvements in efficiency, quality, and release confidence.

Lead Testing Teams and Release Governance

  • Manage and mentor a team of approximately 5-10 Test Engineers.
  • Coordinate testing activities across internal teams, vendors, delivery partners, and offshore resources.
  • Drive defect triage, root cause analysis, and issue resolution across multiple technology domains.
  • Serve as the quality gatekeeper for project milestones and production releases.
  • Provide clear recommendations regarding release readiness and escalate significant delivery risks where necessary.

Quality Reporting and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Deliver regular reporting on testing progress, critical defects, release risks, and regression health.
  • Present quality insights and recommendations to senior business and technology stakeholders.
  • Use quality metrics and trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Test Environment and Data Readiness

  • Define environment and test data requirements for realistic business validation.
  • Partner with infrastructure and support teams to resolve environment and connectivity issues proactively.
  • Ensure testing teams have access to stable environments and representative test data.

Non-Functional Quality Assurance

  • Ensure performance, resilience, security, and operational readiness testing are adequately planned and executed.
  • Work closely with specialist teams to evaluate outcomes and identify potential risks.
  • Escalate any gaps or unresolved concerns prior to production deployment.

Vendor and Package Testing Oversight

  • Review and challenge vendor testing approaches and evidence.
  • Define testing responsibilities between RAKBANK and external solution providers.
  • Coordinate quality assurance activities for package implementations, upgrades, configurations, and integrations.
  • Facilitate defect resolution across vendor and internal teams to ensure end-to-end solution integrity.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in software testing and quality engineering within Banking or Financial Services.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong functional knowledge of Wholesale Banking, Transaction Banking, Payments, Cash Management, Trade Finance, Treasury, and FX products.
  • Proven experience defining and executing enterprise-scale testing strategies across complex, multi-system environments.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining domain-level regression frameworks.
  • Strong background in test automation and AI-enabled testing practices.
  • Experience leading quality engineering teams across onshore, offshore, partner, and vendor-led environments.
  • Sound understanding of APIs, middleware, digital channels, core banking platforms, and integration architectures.
  • Experience working with transaction banking platforms such as iGTB or Aurionpro and Treasury platforms such as FIS Front Arena or LSEG Refinitiv would be advantageous.
