Job Description

The Ralliant Business System Leader (RBSL) drives operational excellence at Gems Setra by aligning Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement with strategic business objectives. In partnership with site leadership and cross-functional teams, this role translates policy deployment priorities into a focused improvement agenda that delivers measurable, sustained gains in safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, inventory performance, and customer satisfaction.

As the continuous improvement champion, the RBSL embeds Lean principles, daily management, structured problem solving, and leader standard work into everyday operations across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Business Operations. Success requires both sustainable business results and the development of leaders, subject matter experts, and teams who own and advance a culture of continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Leadership and Capability Development

  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement by combining practical Lean expertise with dynamic leadership that energizes teams, models expected behaviors, constructively challenges existing practices, and builds lasting habits of collaboration, learning, and shared accountability for sustainable results.
  • Train, coach, and mentor leaders and associates through Kaizen events, structured problem solving, shop-floor improvements, and RBS training.
  • Build a funnel of lean tool experts, identify the site’s fundamental RBS capability needs, and monitor development toward Champion-level proficiency.
  • Strengthen leaders’ ability to coach teams, apply Lean methods, and sustain accountability for continuous improvement.

Business System Leadership and Strategy Deployment

  • Lead the deployment and continued advancement of RBS, embedding continuous improvement into daily operations, leadership practices, and business processes.
  • Partner with site leadership to develop and execute an RBS roadmap aligned with policy deployment, strategic priorities, business objectives, and key performance indicators.
  • Engage leaders in ownership of improvement priorities, execution, and sustainment; promote accountability and participation across all departments.
  • Facilitate benchmarking and best-practice sharing with other RBS leaders across Gems Setra and other Ralliant operating companies to accelerate learning and business results.

Performance and Change Management

  • Support operations reviews and tiered daily management reviews to identify performance gaps and select appropriate RBS tools and countermeasures.
  • Develop and monitor operational metrics and visual management systems; use data to prioritize opportunities and validate business impact.
  • Lead cross-functional change initiatives, influence stakeholders without direct authority, and engage employees at all levels in improvement execution.
  • Communicate improvement priorities, progress, measurable results, and best practices to site and corporate leadership.

Operational Excellence and Kaizen Execution

  • Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives that strengthen safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, inventory performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and manage a prioritized Kaizen funnel and event roadmap, including event preparation, hands-on facilitation, weekly reviews, and 30-, 60-, and 90-day follow-up to verify results and sustain improvements.
  • Lead the implementation of Lean tools and coach teams in their effective application, including value stream mapping, daily management, visual management, standard work, leader standard work, Gemba walks, and structured root cause problem solving.
  • Establish management systems and sustainment practices that maintain improvements, support manufacturing competitiveness and add customer value.

QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, or a continuous improvement-focused business system, with demonstrated experience leading Lean or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proven success implementing Lean or business system methodologies and delivering measurable, sustained business results.
  • Strong working knowledge of daily management, standard work, value stream mapping, visual management, Kaizen facilitation, structured root cause problem solving, and strategy deployment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, influence leaders without direct authority, and drive improvement across functions and value streams.
  • Strong analytical, communication, training, facilitation, prioritization, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the Ralliant Business System (RBS) or comparable Lean operating system.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a dynamic industrial manufacturing environment.

Leadership Competencies

  • Strategic and hands-on leadership: Connect business priorities to practical actions while remaining engaged in shop-floor and business-process improvement.
  • Problem solving and execution: Break complex issues into actionable priorities, apply data and Lean methods, and follow through to sustained results.
  • Communication and influence: Communicate effectively with associates and senior leaders, facilitate collaboration, and build commitment across functions and global teams.
  • Coaching and development: Build leadership and technical capability through mentoring, training, and learning by doing.
  • Change leadership: Demonstrate a strong bias for action, effective priority setting, adaptability, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer focus and continuous learning: Model RBS principles in daily tasks and interactions with all levels of the organization: Win as one team, Solve problems, Learn by doing, Unlock growth, and Own our future.

SUCCESS MEASURES

Success is demonstrated through measurable, sustained improvement in business performance and organizational capability, aligned with site priorities:

  • Safety performance, product quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • On-time delivery, lead time, productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Inventory reduction and operating cost savings.
  • Kaizen execution, verified results, and sustainment of improvements.
  • RBS maturity, adoption, and integration into daily management.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
