In this role, you will be responsible for verifying software and firmware used in industry-leading precision test and measurement instruments, ensuring products meet design requirements, quality standards, and customer expectations.

You will work closely with software, firmware, and hardware engineers to develop and execute verification strategies that validate functional, performance, and quality requirements. This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with high-performance instrumentation while helping improve the reliability, usability, and customer experience of our products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain automated tests, test frameworks, and supporting infrastructure to improve test coverage and execution efficiency.
  • Review requirements, specifications, and design documentation to develop verification strategies and ensure adequate test coverage.
  • Analyze test failures, troubleshoot issues, isolate root causes, and collaborate with development teams to drive resolution.
  • Document verification results, track test progress, and communicate findings, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with software, firmware, and hardware engineers throughout the product lifecycle to ensure quality objectives are met.
  • Support project planning through effort estimation, risk assessment, and release readiness activities.
  • Continuously improve verification processes, tools, and automation capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience in software and/or firmware verification, test engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in software verification, firmware verification, or a related engineering role.
  • Experience testing integrated software, firmware, and hardware systems.
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automated test frameworks and automation solutions.
  • Experience with source control systems such as Git.
  • Experience creating test plans, test cases, test reports, and other verification documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills across software, firmware, and hardware interactions.
  • Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into effective verification strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and desire to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment.
  • Experience using defect tracking and work management systems such as Jira.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using test and measurement equipment such as digital multimeters (DMMs), source measure units (SMUs), oscilloscopes, power supplies, switch systems, data acquisition systems, or other electronic instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with other programming languages such as Lua, C#, or C++.
  • Familiarity with instrument communication and control technologies, including SCPI, VISA, IVI, and LXI-compliant instruments.
  • Experience testing communication interfaces such as USB, LAN/Ethernet, GPIB, and RS-232.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
