Job Description

Trade Compliance Program Manager

The Trade Compliance Program Manager is a self-directed individual contributor responsible for executing and coordinating import and export compliance activities across assigned operating companies, including Qualitrol, Gems/Setra, Hengstler-Dynapar, Anderson-Negele, and related sites. This role requires strong organizational agility, sound judgment, and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority. The position supports implementation of corporate policies and procedures, manages trade compliance escalations, contributes to audits and investigations, and partners with legal, operations, supply chain, finance, IT, HR, brokers, freight forwarders, and external advisors to maintain an effective global trade compliance program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently execute day-to-day trade compliance activities for assigned OpCos, coordinating with Customs brokers, business partners, and functional stakeholders.
  • Serve as a first-line escalation resource for import, export, sanctions, restricted-party screening, valuation, country-of-origin, classification, licensing, antiboycott, and free trade agreement matters.
  • Apply strong organizational agility to navigate complex matrixed environments, align stakeholders, and move compliance actions to closure without direct reporting authority.
  • Implement, communicate, and maintain corporate trade compliance policies, procedures, work instructions, escalation protocols, and control requirements.
  • Manage HTS, ECCN, USML, country-of-origin, valuation, and transfer/intercompany pricing compliance activities in coordination with internal teams, brokers, and external experts.
  • Support export authorization reviews, license determinations, license exceptions/exemptions, re-export and in-country transfer reviews, government filings, and controlled technology access processes.
  • Contribute to audits, investigations, annual risk assessments, recordkeeping reviews, broker SOPs, duty savings initiatives, and corrective action plans.
  • Develop and deliver practical trade compliance training based on employee role, trade touchpoints, and regulatory risk.
  • Partner with Legal on contract language, with IT on access controls and screened web downloads, and with HR on technology control plans and non-U.S. person visitor reviews.
  • Stay current on applicable trade laws and regulations and translate changes into clear, actionable business requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of progressive import/export compliance experience, including hands-on operational execution, regulatory interpretation, escalation management, and program support.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. import and export regulations, including HTS classification, country of origin, customs valuation, EAR, ITAR/USML, sanctions, restricted-party screening, antiboycott, export licensing, and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Experience supporting trade compliance programs in a manufacturing, industrial, technology, instrumentation, or multinational environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, identify compliance risk, and drive issues to resolution with limited supervision.
  • Strong organizational agility, including the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and coordinate across legal, supply chain, finance, engineering, IT, HR, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and external counsel.
  • Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical procedures, controls, training, and business guidance.
  • Strong judgment, accountability, attention to detail, and ability to manage escalations involving legal, commercial, and operational risk.
  • Must be able to travel to Ralliant Operating Companies in NY, Mass, Conn, North Carolina and South Carolina at least twice a year or as required
  • Prior experience with Oracle GTM, JD Edwards or SAP GTS a plus
  • Skills with excel and data analysis a plus
  • Customs Brokers License a plus

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
