About the Role RAM is looking for a Software Engineer I to join our growing technology team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career Software Engineer who already has some professional development experience and is looking to continue building their skills across full-stack development, cloud technology, data integration, and AI. Working under the guidance of a Senior Engineer, Lead, or IT Manager, you will contribute to both internal RAM solutions and client-facing projects. You’ll work primarily within a modern Node.js, TypeScript, React, and AWS environment while gaining further exposure to Python, databases, data integration, and emerging AI technologies. We’re looking for someone with approximately 1–2+ years of practical software development experience who understands modern development workflows and is comfortable contributing within a collaborative engineering environment. What You’ll Be Working On
Develop full-stack features using Node.js, TypeScript, React, and AWS. Build user interface components, REST APIs, and integrations following established development standards. Write clean, maintainable and testable code, including unit and basic integration testing. Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback from senior team members. Work with Git, branches, pull requests, and CI/CD pipelines. Write and optimize SQL queries, views, and stored procedures using relational databases such as PostgreSQL or SQL Server. Build simple ETL jobs and system integrations using Node.js or Python. Support data migration activities including data mapping, clean-up scripts and validation. Prepare and structure data for reporting and dashboards, including Power BI. Build and support simple AI and Large Language Model (LLM) features using platforms such as Anthropic Claude, Amazon Bedrock or Azure OpenAI. Assist with prompt development, testing and improvement of AI-generated outputs. Support Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions, including document loading, chunking, embeddings and search. Use approved AI coding assistants such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot while reviewing and validating AI-generated code. Support minor changes within existing C#/.NET applications when required. Assist with simple Microsoft-based automations using tools such as Power Automate, SharePoint and Microsoft Graph API. Follow secure coding practices including OWASP principles, secrets management and safe API handling. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and maintain project work within Jira. Contribute to both internal RAM initiatives and billable client projects, including potential assignments directly with RAM clients.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Approximately 1–2+ years of professional software development experience; relevant co-op or internship experience may be considered. Practical development experience with Node.js, TypeScript and React. Good SQL skills and experience working with at least one relational database. Basic experience with Python and C#/.NET. Experience using Git and CI/CD pipelines within a team development environment. Basic cloud experience, ideally within AWS; Azure exposure is considered an asset. Familiarity with AWS technologies such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudWatch, RDS, DynamoDB and IAM is beneficial. Exposure to LLM APIs or AI development, whether through professional, academic or personal projects. Understanding of REST APIs, JSON and modern web development practices. Familiarity with automated testing tools such as Jest or Vitest and basic Docker concepts. ETL, data migration, Power BI or Power Automate experience is considered an asset. Exposure to RAG, embeddings, prompt engineering or other AI development concepts is an asset. Familiarity with Acumatica customization is considered an asset but is not required. Strong communication, problem-solving and organizational skills. Curious and motivated to continue learning, particularly within AI, cloud and data technologies. Able to manage multiple priorities and take ownership of assigned work.
