Randwick City Council is an innovative and progressive Council committed to serving our vibrant community on the eastern beaches of Sydney. Our Vibrancy and Place team is seeking 2 x Place Coordinators to help deliver the Economic Development Strategy and make a real difference to our local economies and town centres. Purpose: Working with the team, the Place Coordinators will build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses and key stakeholders to build a collaborative, supported business community across the City of Randwick. This role requires strong skills in project management, events delivery, communications and advocacy, administration and procurement knowledge, understanding of ongoing sector and policy developments, and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively. About the role: As a Place Coordinator, some key accountabilities include:
Manage the development and implementation of distinct place and town centre strategies/projects aligned to the Randwick’s Economic Development Strategy and other relevant strategies under the management of Head Vibrancy and Place. Plan, develop, deliver and evaluate creative and engaging placemaking events and activations including events programming, production, risk and compliance, procurement, community engagement, promotion, site management, accountable budget management and post-event documentation. Create and build authentic and productive relationships with key external stakeholders including local businesses, Chambers of Commerce, external funding bodies, suppliers and contractors, and our community
About you:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in place-management, community/arts/economic development, community engagement, communications and/or equivalent relevant industry experience. Comprehensive experience and knowledge in placemaking, events management and activation, development and delivery of complex place centre strategies or precinct projects within timeframes and budget. Well-developed project management skills including strong time management, budget development, resourcefulness, and the capacity to act autonomously in the execution of daily administration and coordination of multiple projects simultaneously within tight deadlines.
