Purpose The Business Development Manager accelerates profitable growth for ENTEC Polymers by partnering with Sales, Product Management, suppliers, and technical resources to create, qualify, advance, and close business opportunities. This role supports Account Manager ownership of customer relationships while providing market expertise, supplier alignment, technical-commercial support, CRM discipline, and field sales enablement for targeted growth initiatives.   Areas of Responsibility / Tasks Performance must reflect the appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below.      1.       Strategic Growth & Market Development

Develop and execute supplier- and market-aligned growth strategies focused on profitable volume growth, customer satisfaction, new account activation, and share expansion. Identify and qualify opportunities with target accounts, OEMs, converters, brand owners, processors, and strategic customers within assigned markets or product families. Build business plans using customer needs, supplier priorities, competitive intelligence, market trends, regulatory developments, and CRM opportunity data.

 

Business Development and Opportunity Execution 

Partner with Account Managers to identify, advance, and close opportunities that increase pounds, revenue, gross profit, and supplier-aligned growth.  Participate in joint customer calls to support account penetration, application discovery, specification development, product positioning, and opportunity conversion.  Coordinate trials, samples, approvals, technical-commercial follow-up, and internal resources from initial qualification through close. 

  3.       Opportunity Pipeline, CRM & Sales Accountability

Manage assigned opportunity pipelines in partnership with Sales, Product Management, suppliers, and technical resources. Maintain accurate CRM records, including opportunity ownership, value, timing, probability, next steps, priority targets, and follow-up actions. Provide commercial leadership with regular updates on activity, pipeline progress, results, win/loss feedback, and the effectiveness of growth strategies.

 

Supplier, Product, and Market Expertise 

Align with strategic suppliers and Product Management on growth priorities, target accounts, application focus areas, product positioning, and resource needs. Maintain subject matter expertise in assigned product lines, supplier offerings, value propositions, manufacturing capabilities, and competitive alternatives. Support growth of assigned branded, specialty, sustainable, prime, generic, or engineered product lines consistent with portfolio and supplier strategy.

Sales Enablement and Customer Support

Accompany Account Managers, Product Managers, suppliers, and technical teams on customer visits and other business-development activities. Equip the sales team with product knowledge, application targets, market intelligence, competitive positioning, qualification guidance, and practical selling tools. Coordinate the appropriate technical, product, supplier, and commercial resources to resolve customer concerns and remove barriers to opportunity advancement.

  6.       Marketing and Industry Engagement

Represent ENTEC Polymers at customer meetings, supplier meetings, trade shows, conferences, and industry events relevant to assigned markets or product lines. Support marketing, campaign targeting, content development, trade show preparation, and digital business development activity in coordination with commercial leadership.

Collaborate effectively across a matrixed organization, including Sales, Product Management, Business Management, Technical Service, Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Service, suppliers, and customers. Product, application, and technical aptitude within plastic resins, polymers, materials, distribution, processing applications, or related industrial markets. Pipeline discipline and data accuracy, including effective use of CRM, dashboards, reporting tools, forecasting inputs, and opportunity records. Communication and influence skills with the ability to build credibility, present clearly, manage relationships, and align internal and external stakeholders. Coaching and enablement ability, including translating product, market, and supplier knowledge into practical selling guidance. Planning, prioritization, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customers, suppliers, and internal initiatives independently. Professional judgment, integrity, persistence, adaptability, creativity, and sound problem-solving in commercial situations.

  Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. 3+ years of experience in Export Compliance, International Trade Compliance, Customs Compliance, Logistics, or a related field preferred.

Position is in office, hybrid, with discretion for the manager to change as dictated by business requirements.

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to communicate verbally, read, and comprehend information, type on a consistent and daily basis. Push, pull, and lift to 40lbs on a weekly basis. Ability to setup desk equipment including setting up equipment on top of desks and connecting cables and power cords under desk (requiring lifting, bending, pushing, pulling).
