Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer/ BIM Technician to join our full-service engineering team in Fairbanks or Anchorage, Alaska! If you’re passionate about drafting and modeling complex systems, then take a look! This role will assist in designing world-class projects using state-of-the-art technologies. As a BIM Technician, you’ll be an integral part of our multidisciplinary engineering design team. We foster a collaborative atmosphere where creativity thrives, and ideas are valued. 1. Cutting-Edge Technology: Get ready to dive into the world of BIM software! You will work primarily in Revit and have the opportunity to leverage Autodesk Construction Cloud, Plant 3D, AutoCAD, Recap and Bluebeam Revu to enhance your workflows. These powerful platforms empower you to digitally prototype and document precise, clash-free designs that bring facility projects to life.

2. Impactful work: Your role will directly contribute to the success of construction projects. From modeling HVAC and plumbing system layouts to producing plan sheets, elevations, and sections, your work will shape the future of our built environment.

3. Visualize and Coordinate: We believe in thinking beyond 2D blueprints. As a BIM Technician, you’ll visualize complex systems to ensure seamless coordination across disciplines. Your ability to recognize spatial conflicts and help optimize designs will be invaluable.

4. Library Management: Curate and maintain our BIM and CADD library, ensuring seamless access to essential resources and support files.

Qualifications

All experience levels are encouraged to apply

  • Proficiency in BIM and CADD software (Autodesk Revit, Plant 3D, AutoCAD and Recap)
  • Interest in emerging technologies
  • Strong visualization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in collaborative team settings
  • Ability to interpret written, verbal, and visual direction

Additional Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical drafting and modeling preferred
  • Experience in construction and related trades will be beneficial
  • Related degrees or certifications desired

Additional Information

Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise. Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe-benefits package. RESPEC is a 100 percent employee-owned company, and employees are eligible for participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) after a qualifying period.

Work Schedule: During the summer months; 40 hours/week.
