Assistant Application Engineer (Automation)

Industry: Industrial Automation (Sensors, Vision Systems & PLCs)

  • New Entry: Diploma in Engineering $2,200 basic / Degree in Engineering $3,000 basic
  • Employment: 12-month contract (renewable or convertible to permanent) - 1-month Completion Bonus
  • Day/timings: 5 days, Mon-Fri 8:15AM-5:30PM
  • Location: Kallang/travel to customer sites as required

Company brief: Our client is an established supplier of factory-automation sensors, measurement and vision systems and PLCs, with a direct technical sales model.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support sales reps and customers on product capabilities, specifications and applications by phone and email
  • Analyse and troubleshoot customer issues remotely and on-site
  • Conduct product application testing for sales reps and customers
  • Travel to customer sites for system setup, adjustment and fine-tuning
  • Conduct post-sales application training and create/update training manuals
  • Assist sales reps with on-site customer presentations when needed
  • Identify and drive improvements to department efficiency
  • Other duties or projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in an engineering discipline
  • 1 year with sensors and actuators (DC motors, encoders, relays, solenoids) and stepper/servo motors, with automation experience in manufacturing
  • Familiar with logic control, communication protocols and Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of SQL/MySQL and C#, Java or Python
