About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Electronics Technician to support the assembly, testing, and integration of advanced Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) systems.

This contract opportunity involves working with complex electrical and electromechanical assemblies while collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to support production and delivery milestones.

The successful candidate will have practical electronics assembly and troubleshooting experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow engineering specifications while contributing to the reliable production of advanced underwater systems.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an experienced electronics technician who can build, test, integrate, and troubleshoot complex electrical assemblies in a manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working with intricate wiring harnesses, soldering electronic modules and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), reading technical documentation, and using electrical test equipment to identify and resolve issues.

Candidates with backgrounds in defense, robotics, avionics, subsea systems, or low-volume, high-mix manufacturing are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Electronics Assembly & Integration

  • Build, test, and integrate complex electrical assemblies into AUV platforms.
  • Support pressure vessel fabrication and assembly as part of overall AUV production integration.
  • Perform detailed electromechanical assembly involving tight tolerances, complex components, enclosures, and wire routing.
  • Fabricate complex wire harnesses and solder electronic modules and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs).
  • Modify commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components to support manufacturing and integration requirements.

Electrical Testing & Troubleshooting

  • Perform electrical debugging using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other relevant test equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and electromechanical assemblies during manufacturing and integration.
  • Configure devices by flashing or loading the correct software and firmware versions.
  • Follow electrical documentation and engineering specifications to ensure compliance and product quality.

Fabrication, Tooling & Process Improvement

  • Design, prototype, and scale manufacturing jigs and fixtures to improve assembly and test efficiency.
  • Help develop, document, and improve pressure vessel production processes.
  • Support manufacturing workflow improvements and production requirements.
  • Provide technical feedback to engineering and manufacturing teams.

Quality, Documentation & Manufacturing Operations

  • Maintain organized work areas using 5S practices.
  • Perform part inspections, close work orders, and follow established safety procedures.
  • Support tool and equipment maintenance and calibration tracking.
  • Assist with raw material inventory management.
  • Follow engineering drawings, electrical schematics, work instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Maintain high standards of organization, accountability, and product quality.

Offshore Operations Support

  • Provide offshore operational support when required under the contract scope.
  • Assist with field activities related to advanced underwater systems.
  • Follow applicable technical and safety procedures during operational support.

Required Qualifications

  • 4–12 years of relevant electronics technician experience.
  • Ability to perform detailed electromechanical assembly work involving tight tolerances and complex wire routing.
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering principles and concepts.
  • Strong understanding of the manufacturing lifecycle.
  • Experience working from technical documentation, electrical schematics, and engineering drawings.
  • Hands-on electrical debugging experience using equipment such as digital multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, accountability, and product quality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with urgency and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Willingness to support offshore operations travel if required by the contract.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with subsea robotics, AUVs, UUVs, or underwater equipment.
  • Experience working with electrical systems up to 400 VDC.
  • Avionics experience.
  • Subsea cable splicing or fabrication experience.
  • Experience with pressure vessels, pressure systems, or related equipment.
  • IPC-A-610 and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification.
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Teamcenter, NetSuite, or equivalent systems.
  • Experience in low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environments.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
