Important Screening Requirements

  • Experience with systems programming using C++, Python, Rust, or similar languages.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based development.
  • Experience with low-level systems, hardware interfaces, or embedded software.
  • Must be able to work on-site in Torrance, CA.
  • U.S. work authorization and export-control eligibility requirements may apply.

About the Role

We are seeking Embedded Software Engineers to develop, test, and integrate software that drives and simulates advanced flight systems.

The role spans multiple layers of the technology stack, including applications, operating systems, networking, firmware, and simulation. Engineers will work closely with hardware and software teams to build and debug mission-critical systems. Embedded Software Engineer- JD

We’re looking for engineers at all experience levels who enjoy working close to the hardware, solving difficult systems problems, and building reliable software for complex flight systems. Embedded Software Engineer- JD

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement reliable autonomous software systems.
  • Develop simulations used to validate software precision and system dependability.
  • Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, from design and prototyping through testing, integration, and deployment.
  • Evaluate test results and troubleshoot complex hardware/software issues.
  • Perform hands-on integration and debugging across software and hardware systems.
  • Develop tools supporting virtualized hardware, hardware-in-the-loop, and vehicle-in-the-loop testing.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams on advanced flight-system capabilities.
  • Contribute to guidance algorithms and integrated seeker image-processing efforts.
  • Lead major software projects when appropriate.
  • Support testing and operations at launch or customer sites when required.
  • Improve software standards, development practices, and engineering processes. Embedded Software Engineer- JD

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related STEM field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with systems programming in C++, Python, Rust, or similar languages.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based development.
  • Understanding of low-level systems programming and hardware interfaces.
  • Experience with interfaces such as UART and I2C is valuable.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment. Embedded Software Engineer- JD

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong C++ or Rust experience.
  • Real-time embedded or distributed computing experience.
  • Experience with Linux systems.
  • Experience working with PowerPC, x86, ARM, or similar architectures.
  • Bash, networking, and performance-analysis tools.
  • Experience with debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing.
  • Knowledge of TCP/UDP networking.
