About Hey Captain

Work & schedule commitment

  • Full-time position: Approx. 20 shifts (150hrs) per month including a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per month
  • Part-time position: Minimum commitment of 8 shifts per month including a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per month
  • Weekend shifts will be distributed throughout the month depending on your availability and the schedule
  • Taking additional shifts is encouraged and is often available during busy periods.
  • Holiday allowance: A maximum of 2 consecutive weeks of holiday may be taken during peak season (June–August). Any additional days off must be agreed in advance with the hiring manager.
  • Shift swaps: Captains can swap shifts internally with colleagues for added flexibility.

Your qualifications

  • Minimum 19 years old.
  • You are positive and generally look at the brighter side of life.
  • You have an outgoing personality and enjoy socializing and engaging in a personal and informative dialogue

  • Experience as a guide, instructor or similar is a plus.
  • Sailing experience is a plus. Extensive training in operating the boats safely will be part of the onboarding program.
  • You are fluent in English and it is a plus if you also master an additional language like German, French, Spanish, Italian, Danish, Swedish or Norwegian.

Practicalities

  • We operate from mid March to Mid December, and both positions are available in this period.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
