Financial Data Analyst A fantastic opportunity for a Financial Data Analyst to join an established consultancy supporting the healthcare sector. Working within the Finance and Operations team, you will turn financial and operational data into insights that help shape business decisions. This varied role combines hands-on Power BI development, financial analysis and process automation, offering the opportunity to influence how the business plans, forecasts and measures performance. Location: Cambridge, UK. Hybrid working with one day per week from home during probation, normally six months. After probation, up to half of your working time can be from home, measured over a rolling two-week period. Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 per annum + discretionary profit share bonus + benefits Requirements for Financial Data Analyst: A minimum of a 2:1 degree or equivalent in a quantitative subject such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Data Science or Data Analytics At least two years of experience in data analytics within a finance setting Strong Power BI skills, including experience building and maintaining dashboards and reports A solid understanding of financial planning and analysis, with the ability to define and monitor KPIs and financial metrics Experience cleaning, validating and checking data to ensure accurate and reliable reporting Understanding of data governance, security and privacy best practices Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain findings clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills Ability to document data sources, transformations and reporting methodologies, maintaining clear records of how data flows through systems Strong organisation, prioritisation and time management skills Experience in any of the following is beneficial: Python, VBA, SQL, advanced Excel, Power Query, Power Pivot, statistical analysis, budgeting, forecasting, scenario modelling, data modelling or reporting automation Experience within a Big Four professional services firm would also be beneficial Responsibilities for Financial Data Analyst: Analyse financial and operational data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement Work with Finance, Operations and People teams to understand business needs and translate these into useful analytics Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that support business decisions Define, monitor and refine KPIs and financial performance measures Support budgeting, forecasting and scenario modelling through robust analysis Combine data from multiple business systems, including ERP platforms and API-connected sources Build reliable, scalable data models that provide a consistent foundation for reporting Improve data quality, documentation and governance across reporting processes Automate recurring tasks and streamline data preparation and dashboard delivery Present clear findings and recommendations to stakeholders across the business Explore opportunities to use emerging technologies, including AI-driven workflows, to improve analysis and efficiency What the role offers: A varied analytical role with the opportunity to influence business planning, performance and decision-making The chance to develop your skills across financial analytics, Power BI and automation, supported by funded external training and paid study leave A comprehensive benefits package including discretionary profit share bonuses, flexible working hours, 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, a holiday buy and sell scheme, private medical insurance, critical illness cover, income protection and life assurance Applications: If you would like to apply for this unique Financial Data Analyst role, then please send your CV via the relevant links!
