Founding Product Engineer A fantastic opportunity for a Product Engineer to join an early-stage, venture-backed AI software company building intelligent tools that simplify complex financial workflows. As the first dedicated Product Engineer, you will work directly with the founders and customers, shaping features from discovery and design through to production. This role requires full-stack startup experience at Seed or Series A stage, alongside demonstrable UI/UX judgment and a strong interest in frontend craft. Location: New York, NY. In-office, 4–5 days per week. Salary: $200,000 - $250,000 annual base salary + equity Requirements for Founding Product Engineer: 3+ years of professional experience as a product or full-stack engineer Hands-on full-stack engineering experience within an early-stage, venture-backed startup at Seed or Series A stage Current production development experience with JavaScript and TypeScript across frontend and backend Experience as a design engineer, or working at a startup with a strong product and design culture Strong UI/UX judgment, demonstrated through a portfolio, personal website or shipped products A natural focus on frontend quality, user journeys and the overall product experience Experience owning features from initial prototype through to production rollout and improvement Comfortable talking directly with customers and translating complex workflows into intuitive software Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize within a fast-moving startup Able to work from the New York office 4–5 days per week Founding engineer experience, product management experience or work on AI-powered B2B software is beneficial Experience in fintech, accounting, insurance, legal technology or compliance is beneficial Responsibilities for Founding Product Engineer: Build across frontend, backend and AI functionality, with a strong emphasis on user experience Work directly with founders and customers to discover problems and prioritize development Design and prototype user journeys, interfaces and interactions Own product features from discovery through to release and ongoing improvement Develop architecture and data models, choosing where conventional software, AI workflows or autonomous agents best solve each problem Write clear product requirements and validate technical feasibility Use customer feedback and product usage to improve usability, reliability and performance Explore AI development tools and establish effective team practices What this role offers: The opportunity to shape the product as the first dedicated Product Engineer, working directly with the founders Broad ownership across full-stack engineering, UI/UX and AI workflows, with direct access to customers A competitive base salary and equity opportunity within an early-stage, venture-backed business Applications: If you would like to apply for this unique Product Engineering role, please submit your resume through the relevant application link!
