Founding Senior Software Engineer A fantastic opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join an early-stage AI software company building intelligent systems that help consumer brands grow. Joining as the second engineer, you will take ownership of backend systems, data infrastructure and AI agents that turn business insights into automated actions. This role would suit a hands-on engineer who enjoys building products from the ground up, shaping technical decisions and supporting other engineers while working directly with the founders. Location: New York, NY. Hybrid, with four days per week in the office. Salary: $175,000–$225,000 annual base salary + founding equity of 1%+ Requirements for Founding Senior Software Engineer: Strong professional experience in full-stack software engineering, with a particular emphasis on backend development Experience building and deploying production-grade AI agents or LLM-powered systems, with end-to-end ownership Hands-on experience integrating AI-powered systems with third-party APIs Strong understanding of data infrastructure, event-driven systems and reliable API integrations Experience working within a high-growth technology company or well-funded startup Experience leading or mentoring engineers while remaining actively involved in coding Ability to prioritize competing tasks and bring structure to an environment with evolving requirements Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to solving problems Able to work from the New York office four days per week Experience in any of the following is beneficial: founding engineering, early-stage startups, e-commerce platforms, marketing technology, Shopify, Meta Ads API, TikTok Ads API or Klaviyo Python and TypeScript are relevant to the stack, although engineers with strong experience in other languages will also be considered Responsibilities for Founding Senior Software Engineer: Own full-stack development for an AI-powered platform, with a strong focus on backend systems and infrastructure Build data infrastructure that captures merchant activity and connects business actions with measurable outcomes Develop AI agents that assess growth operations, identify improvements and execute actions automatically Build and maintain reliable integrations with e-commerce and marketing platforms Develop orchestration tools that coordinate data, external services and AI-driven workflows Help shape the architecture, engineering standards and technical direction as the company grows Mentor the existing engineer while continuing to write and ship production code Work directly with the founders to prioritize development and turn business requirements into reliable software What this role offers: The opportunity to join as the second engineer and shape the architecture and engineering culture from an early stage Hands-on ownership of production AI agents, data infrastructure and integrations with real commercial applications A competitive base salary and founding equity opportunity, working directly with the founders in a small team Applications: If you would like to apply for this unique Software Engineering role, please submit your resume through the relevant application link!
