About Redwood Materials

Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 by JB Straubel, co-founder and former CTO of Tesla, on a simple but radical idea: the critical minerals powering the energy transition already exist. They just need to come back. Today Redwood is the largest lithium-ion battery recycler in North America — recovering, refining, and redeploying critical minerals from end-of-life batteries back into the supply chain. On the energy side, Redwood has deployed the largest second-life battery project in the world, delivering power to AI data centers in months rather than years using proprietary energy architecture engineered entirely in-house. The company is profitable, the market it operates in is projected to grow 20 to 50 times over the next decade, and Redwood is the only company with the supply chain, the technology, and the operational scale to lead it.

Position Summary:

The Senior Construction Project Manager is a career-level role with full ownership of an assigned construction scope of moderate to significant complexity within the Engineering, Procurement, & Construction (EPC) function. Working closely with the Construction Manager and Superintendents, this role coordinates with project management, infrastructure engineering, project controls, and procurement from preconstruction through completion and start of production. The role manages scheduling of trade contractors and vendor installations, resolves day-to-day construction issues, and tracks project schedule and budget, while owning RFIs, submittals, and procurement/RFPs for the assigned scope. The role operates independently, applying sound judgment on schedule, cost, and risk trade-offs, with work reviewed at key project milestones. This is an onsite role, with work performed in person.

Responsibilities will Include:

  • Leads daily meetings with subcontractors/crews to review production schedule and confirm materials, equipment, and resources are available; resolves day-to-day construction issues
  • Develops the project work plan and scheduling strategy for assigned scope, identifying and escalating risks to budget and schedule
  • Manages RFIs, submittals, procurement/RFPs, and schedule for assigned scope, and remits accurate project quantity input and cost coding to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Reviews shop drawings, design specifications, and project data throughout the project to ensure quality and contract specification compliance
  • Provides day-to-day guidance to Project Engineers and other junior staff on assigned scope
  • Conducts required Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), attends weekly safety meetings, and manages permits, inspections, and other documentation required for construction production
  • Reviews and approves daily timecards for construction crews and coordinates with the Office Manager, payroll, and job construction supervisors to resolve inquiries

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required
  • 5+ years of construction engineering, scheduling, or design experience
  • Strong knowledge of cost coding, budgeting, and other project-related financial implications
  • Strong knowledge of scheduling processes and industry best practices
  • Ability to build relationships and work effectively with internal and external partners unfamiliar with the subject matter
  • Knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, building materials, and applicable project standards
  • Proven self-starter with strong verbal/written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
