Junior / Coal Trader / Sales Manager - India Market (Russian Speaking) (Ref: 37956) , City Singapore

Our client is a Singapore-based commodity trading firm operating in the physical coal market, with a focus on metallurgical coal and high-grade anthracite. The company is active across Asian markets, particularly India and Indonesia.

They are seeking a commercially driven Junior / Coal Trader / Sales Manager to support and expand its physical commodity trading business in the Indian market.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, developing customer and supplier relationships, negotiating commercial terms, and coordinating the execution of physical commodity transactions. Candidates with relevant experience in coal or related commodities, such as iron ore and steelmaking raw materials, are encouraged to apply.

This opportunity is suitable for professionals with a strong commercial mindset who can manage trading activities independently, build long-term business relationships, and contribute to the company's growth in the Indian market.

【Responsibilities】

- Develop and expand physical commodity trading activities in the Indian market, focusing on coal and related raw materials.

- Identify and develop new business opportunities with buyers, suppliers, industrial customers and trading counterparties.

- Build and maintain strong commercial relationships with existing and prospective customers and suppliers.

- Manage commercial negotiations, including pricing, payment terms, contracts and other transaction conditions.

- Monitor commodity prices, market developments, supply and demand dynamics, and competitor activities to identify trading opportunities.

- Coordinate the execution of physical trades, including contract management, shipment scheduling, logistics and documentation, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

- Assess commercial risks associated with transactions, including counterparty creditworthiness, payment terms and market price movements.

- Work closely with operations, finance and logistics teams to ensure smooth transaction execution and timely delivery.

- Monitor trading performance and contribute to business growth, profitability and customer retention.

- Maintain accurate trading records and market intelligence, and support the continuous improvement of internal trading systems, including CTRM and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central where applicable.

【Requirements & Preferences】

- Diploma/Degree in Business, International Trade, Supply Chain, or similar

- 5-10 years of trader experience in physical commodity trading, with coal, iron ore, thermal coal, and steelmaking raw materials experience. Candidates with less experience might also be considered for the Junior Coal Trader position

- At least 2-5 years of Indian commodity market experience and knowledge

- Excellent communication in both English and Russian to liaise with both English- and Russian-speaking stakeholders

- Experience using the CTRM Fusion system or other CTRM systems
