The posting

Elastic, the Search AI Company, enables everyone to find the answers they need in real time, using all their data, at scale — unleashing the potential of businesses and people. The Elastic Search AI Platform, used by more than 50% of the Fortune 500, brings together the precision of search and the intelligence of AI to enable everyone to accelerate the results that matter. By taking advantage of all structured and unstructured data — securing and protecting private information more effectively — Elastic’s complete, cloud-based solutions for search, security, and observability help organizations deliver on the promise of AI.

What is The Role

In this role, you will help ensure Elastic’s Security products deliver quality, reliability, and performance at scale while making development and release processes more efficient for engineers across the organization. You’ll have a particular focus on the tooling, infrastructure, and realistic workloads that help teams understand how their products behave under load and catch performance regressions early. If you think systematically, thrive in ambiguity, and enjoy enabling teams to build and ship software effectively at scale, we’d love to hear from you.

What You Will Be Doing

  • You will build and improve the frameworks, reusable components, and operational guidelines that help teams own the full software development lifecycle for their services.
  • Design and implement custom tools to improve testing capabilities and create user-friendly interfaces for internal tools to aid engineers. Develop automation scripts to streamline build and deployment processes, while integrating monitoring solutions to track the performance of the tools. Optimize existing toolsets for enhanced usability and efficiency.
  • Analyze in-house and customer performance metrics to pinpoint bottlenecks in security products. Implement performance testing frameworks to ensure software meets efficiency standards. Collaborate closely with engineering teams to optimize code and monitor application performance across different scenarios. Propose enhancements aimed at boosting system scalability and overall efficiency.
  • Design and manage infrastructure components to establish robust testing environments. Deploy monitoring solutions to track and assess infrastructure performance. Implement security best practices throughout the management process and analyze usage patterns for optimal resource allocation. Troubleshoot and address any infrastructure-related issues that impact performance.
  • Identify and target areas for process improvement within engineering workflows. Implement best practices that enhance software development and release processes. Facilitate cross-team reviews to streamline practices and analyze feedback from engineering teams to improve productivity tools. Develop and promote standard operating procedures for continuous integration to ensure efficiency.
  • Develop and execute workload simulation scenarios to assess system behavior under different loads. Analyze simulation results to pinpoint performance issues and identify areas for improvement. Establish benchmarks and metrics to measure workload impacts on reliability and performance. Collaborate with teams to enhance simulation processes that mirror real-world usage patterns, and integrate automated tools into the development cycle for continuous performance evaluation.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 7+ years with software development in a professional environment
  • 3+ years with building and improving CI/CD pipelines
  • 3+ years with performance testing and optimization
  • 3+ years with technical documentation and architectural guidelines
  • Experience with performance testing, load testing, or scale testing. This includes working with test infrastructure. It also involves generating representative data and interpreting results to identify regressions and bottlenecks.
  • Deep experience in one or more programming languages such as Python, Go, Bash, Java, or Scala.
  • Hands-on AI fluency, including integrating LLM APIs into production workflows and applying prompt engineering to domain-specific problems.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and developer platforms, including tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, configuration management tools, and major cloud providers.
  • Experience designing scalable systems and improving developer productivity through tooling and automation.
  • Experience in building with CI/CD systems, GIT and modern development and release practices.
  • Solid comprehension of the full software development lifecycle, including build, package, test, release, and quality strategy.
  • Ability to shift fluidly across projects, priorities, and evolving team structures.
  • A track record of improving engineering practices such as code review quality, standards, and team efficiency.
  • Excitement for working with a globally distributed team and comfort in navigating ambiguity.
  • A deep sense of humor.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
