Key Responsibilities:Responsible for entering medical claim forms (i.e. HCFA-1500/UB-04) into in-house database, vendor web tools, etc.Serve as back-up for Scanning and provider service intake.Performs other related responsibilities as assigned.Maintain awareness of and ensure adherence to Zelis standards regarding privacy.Technical Skills / Knowledge:Has basic understanding of key medical claims billing information that is required for entry into CMS and where that can be found on claim forms (i.e. HCFA-1500/UB-04).Detail oriented and ensures accuracy when entering information from a claim, eliminating future delays and errors related to typos or missing information.Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize CMS and MS Office applicationsThorough knowledge of company and departmental policies and proceduresIndependence/ Accountability:Requires close daily supervisionAbility to follow detailed instructions on assignmentsRegularly reviews goals and objectives with supervisorMust have professional manner and respect the confidentiality of administrative matters and filesAbility to manage and prioritize multiple tasksAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesProblem Solving:Recognizes deviations from expected observationsCalls attention to results that require analysisCompletes work in a timely fashionOutstanding ability to multiplex tasks as requiredAttention to detailLeadership Activities:Regularly attends and participates in departmental meetingsMust be proactive to ensure proper follow up and completion of projectsMust maintain a professional demeanor in sensitive situationsAssists other departments as necessaryCommunication Skills:Must work well with othersEffectively communicates with others by giving and receiving feedbackCustomary Education and Experience:High School Diploma2+ years of experience within healthcare industry preferred.Solid written & verbal communication skillsKnowledge of MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel & Internet ExplorerStrong prioritizing & organizational skillsExcellent typing/data entry skillsAs a leading payments company in healthcare, we guide, price, explain, and pay for care on behalf of insurers and their members.
