Your internship journey
Our Finance summer internship is designed to give you a real insight into life at NatWest Group, while helping you build the skills, experience and confidence to explore your future career options.
During the programme, you'll gain hands-on experience working alongside Finance professionals, applying your skills to meaningful work and learning how financial insight helps drive decisions across the bank.
Over the course of this eight-week programme, you can look forward to:
- Learning about our culture, values and the role Finance plays in supporting the bank's success
- Building an understanding of the fast-moving financial services industry
- Developing practical experience in analysing data and producing insights to support business decisions
- Gaining exposure to forecasting, planning and financial performance activities
- Taking part in training, learning opportunities and day-to-day team activities
- Working on a business improvement project that helps you apply your skills in a real-world environment
- Developing transferable skills in collaboration, problem-solving, communication and commercial thinking
- Seeing first-hand how colleagues across the bank work together to deliver good customer outcomes
At the end of the placement, we'll assess what you've learned. If successful, you could be offered a place on our Finance graduate programme, giving you the opportunity to continue your development and take the next step in your career.

Entry requirements
To be eligible for our Finance summer internship, you'll need:
- To be in your penultimate year of university
- To be on course to achieve a 2:1 in your degree
- An interest in understanding how businesses make decisions and create value for customers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to communicate clearly and build positive relationships with others
- Attention to detail and a willingness to learn
- Initiative, curiosity and the confidence to explore new ideas
