The Software Product Manager serves as the product owner within the Agile development process and partners closely with Software Engineering, instrument Product Managers, Quality, Applications, Service & Support, Commercial teams and cross-functional business units. The role will have responsibility for software product strategy, ownership and integration across the Process Analytics portfolio, including digital-twin capabilities and strategic software partnerships.

This role is expected to model our Leadership Behaviors—Integrity & Compliance, Customer Focus, Collaboration, Courage, Team Empowerment, and Accountability & Results—in all aspects of work.

Responsibilities

Product strategy & roadmap ownership

• Define, own and maintain the software product vision, strategy, roadmap and lifecycle, aligned with organizational strategy and business unit priorities, while demonstrating strategic thinking and accountability for business outcomes. • Translate business objectives, customer workflows and market needs into actionable product initiatives, epics, user stories and acceptance criteria that create measurable value for customers and the organization. • Communicate short-, mid- and long-term product direction, priorities and tradeoffs to stakeholders with clarity, transparency and sound judgment.

Cross-business integration & collaboration

• Serve as the primary Process Analytics product representative for software strategy and integration across business units and product platforms, fostering alignment and collaboration across diverse stakeholders. • Partner with instrument Product Managers to align software priorities across SoloVPE PLUS, FlowVPX, RPM and the broader Process Analytics portfolio. • Coordinate shared roadmaps, dependencies and integration priorities across internal systems, third-party platforms and future digital solutions, driving alignment toward common goals. • Define product requirements and priorities for integrating digital-twin capabilities with Process Analytics instruments, systems and data workflows. • Manage the product relationship with Novasign, aligning joint roadmaps, integration priorities, customer needs and commercialization requirements with internal stakeholders while building strong, trusted partnerships.

Prioritization & product ownership

• Own and prioritize the software backlog using transparent, value-based decision criteria that consider customer impact, business value, quality, compliance, risk and delivery capacity. • Maintain backlog discipline through regular refinement, prioritization and alignment with the product roadmap. • Define clear product requirements, acceptance criteria and intended outcomes for development initiatives. • Balance stakeholder requests while providing clear rationale for what is built, why it matters and how success will be measured, demonstrating accountability and informed decision-making.

Metrics, insights & performance

• Define and track product KPIs and objectives aligned with customer and business outcomes. • Use customer feedback, usage insights, support cases, defect trends and service data to identify improvement priorities and inform data-driven decisions. • Provide product performance updates, trend analysis and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership, driving continuous learning and improvement.

User experience & customer advocacy

• Partner with customers, Applications and UX resources to understand user journeys, workflows and unmet needs, acting as a strong advocate for the customer. • Translate customer insights into product requirements and roadmap priorities. • Drive a consistent, intuitive software experience across Analytics products and connected workflows that enhances customer satisfaction and adoption.

Software quality & continuous improvement

• Partner with Engineering and QA to define product-level quality expectations, acceptance criteria and measurable release outcomes. • Own product prioritization of defects and quality improvements based on customer impact, risk and business priority. • Use post-release performance and customer feedback to guide continuous product improvement and deliver increasing value over time.

Release readiness & commercialization

• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Service and Applications to define product readiness criteria and confirm that customer-facing deliverables support launch objectives. • Ensure product requirements for release notes, training, documentation and customer enablement are identified and coordinated with accountable functions. • Support software positioning, packaging, pricing, forecasting and go-to-market planning, contributing to successful product adoption and business growth.

Stakeholder communication & enablement

• Provide clear software product updates and roadmap communications that articulate priorities, progress, risks and decisions. • Proactively surface cross-functional dependencies and recommend actions or tradeoffs, demonstrating ownership and a solutions-oriented mindset. • Support internal product training, demonstrations and enablement for Commercial, Applications, Service and Support teams, helping teams succeed through effective knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, life sciences or a related technical discipline; advanced degree or MBA preferred.

• 5+ years of software product management, product ownership or related experience in life sciences, analytical instrumentation, connected products or another technical market.

• Demonstrated experience owning software roadmaps, requirements, backlogs and product priorities.

• Working knowledge of Agile software development and experience partnering with software engineering and quality teams.

• Experience with instrument software, connected devices, automation, data platforms, enterprise integrations or digital products preferred.

• Experience managing external software, technology or development partnerships preferred.

• Ability to translate customer workflows, technical needs and business objectives into practical software requirements and priorities.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
