The posting

Resource Management Concepts, Inc. (RMC) provides high-quality, professional services to government and commercial sectors. Our mission is to deliver exceptional management and technology solutions supporting the protection and preservation of the people and environment of the United States of America.

RMC is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to build, automate, and maintain the cloud infrastructure and secure deployment environments supporting mission applications and core services. This role combines infrastructure as code, Kubernetes deployment, and automated security testing within Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments.

The engineer will work closely with software developers to establish consistent environments and move services into reliable, scalable deployments. Candidates should understand how cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, networking, and security controls work together. We are looking for hands-on experience designing and operating these environments, with an emphasis on automation, troubleshooting, and improving software delivery.

This position is contingent on contract award and position availability. It is a full-time, on-site role at a Government facility in Charleston, SC.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build, automate, and maintain AWS infrastructure supporting development, integration, testing, and operational deployments.
  • Develop infrastructure as code and Ansible automation to create repeatable deployments, maintain consistent configurations, and reduce configuration drift.
  • Deploy and operate containerized applications using Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift, addressing scalability, availability, networking, resource management, and persistent storage.
  • Build and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines that automate software builds, testing, security checks, and deployments.
  • Configure and maintain the DevOps toolchain, including container registries, artifact repositories, and environment configurations.
  • Integrate automated security testing into delivery workflows and work with developers to remediate vulnerabilities and pipeline performance bottlenecks.
  • Support AWS GovCloud deployments and environments subject to Department of Defense Impact Level 5 (IL5) requirements.
  • Implement monitoring, centralized logging, and alerting to support troubleshooting, capacity planning, and service reliability.
  • Configure platform access controls and integrate secrets management and certificate handling into deployment workflows.
  • Troubleshoot issues involving Linux systems, cloud networking, permissions, storage, and container orchestration.
  • Automate patching, deployment validation, rollback, and recovery procedures.
  • Document pipeline configurations and operational procedures, contribute to implementation plans and security testing reports, and help developers use the delivery environment effectively.
  • Evaluate tools and deployment approaches through proof-of-concept testing and improve deployment speed, vulnerability remediation, automated testing, and service availability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
  • Typically 10 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with a CI polygraph.
  • Prior Intelligence Community support experience.
  • Professional or academic experience with programming and Agile, DevOps, or DevSecOps.
  • Hands-on AWS infrastructure experience across compute, networking, storage, and IAM.
  • Experience managing Kubernetes workloads, networking, storage, scaling, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Ansible, infrastructure as code, Git, and version-controlled configurations.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines with automated security testing.
  • Strong Linux administration and Python, Bash, or similar scripting skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot cloud, container, and application deployments.
  • Agile Developer or Certified Scrum Developer certification.

Desired Skills

  • Master’s degree in a related quantitative field.
  • Meet DoD 8140/8570 IAM Level II or III requirements (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CAP/ISC2 CGRC).
  • OpenShift deployment, cluster configuration, access controls, networking, and workload security.
  • AWS GovCloud and Impact Level 5 deployment experience.
  • Terraform, CloudFormation, and reusable Ansible roles/playbooks.
  • CI/CD integration of SAST, DAST, dependency checks, and container scanning.
  • Database or search platform deployment, storage, backup/recovery, and availability.
  • Enterprise identity integration, secrets management, and certificate automation.
  • Health checks, monitoring, rollback, and tested recovery procedures.
  • AWS, Kubernetes, Red Hat, or infrastructure automation certifications.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
