Role Description

At respond.io, you’ll own the design of defined features across web and mobile, work closely with Product Managers, UX Writers and Engineers on PRDs and practical solutions to user and business problems, go beyond Figma designs by using AI-assisted coding to build and test working prototypes, help maintain and improve our Design Language System (DLS), and take initiative to address UX issues without waiting to be asked.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Independently manage design for assigned features across web and mobile, from discovery and research through design, delivery, and improvements after launch.
  • Work closely with Product Managers, UX Writers, Engineers, and other teams to shape PRDs and develop solutions that balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
  • Design complete user journeys, flows, and interfaces with clear information architecture, visual hierarchy, balanced layouts, and consideration for different states and edge cases.
  • Build working prototypes through vibe coding with tools such as Claude, Codex, or Figma Make, alongside Figma, to explore solutions, communicate ideas, and test interactions.
  • Use AI tools in your daily workflow to solve problems and reduce manual work, taking responsibility for the quality and accuracy of the output.
  • Use product analytics tools such as Pendo and PostHog to build funnels, identify drop-offs, understand feature usage, and measure the impact of design changes.
  • Plan and conduct focused user research, usability testing, and feedback collection, turning findings into practical product improvements.
  • Maintain and improve our Design Language System using atomic design principles, reusable components, Figma variables, and design tokens, working closely with Frontend Engineers to keep design and implementation consistent.
  • Communicate design decisions, evidence, and trade-offs clearly in discussions, reviews, and documentation, working through feedback with teammates and raising blockers early.
  • Adapt handover to each project using Figma designs, coded prototypes, or both, and work with Engineers to review implementation quality and make delivery smoother.
  • Proactively identify usability and feature discoverability issues, propose practical fixes, and work with the relevant teammates to address them without waiting to be asked.

Qualifications

  • 1–4 years of experience as a Product Designer or UI/UX Designer, preferably in B2B SaaS or a complex product environment, with demonstrated ability to own design work independently.
  • Regular use of AI tools to solve design problems, explore ideas, and improve efficiency, with the judgement to check and refine their output.
  • Hands-on experience building working prototypes through vibe coding with tools such as Claude, Codex, or Figma Make, and the ability to demonstrate how these support your design process.
  • Experience taking defined features from discovery and research through design, implementation support, and iteration.
  • Strong UX and visual design fundamentals, including user journeys, information architecture, interaction design, hierarchy, typography, spacing, states, and edge cases.
  • Experience designing for web and mobile, with an understanding of platform-specific patterns, accessibility, and technical constraints.
  • Proficiency in Figma, including reusable components, variables, and design tokens, with an understanding of atomic design and experience contributing to a design system.
  • Experience using product analytics tools such as Pendo, PostHog, or similar to analyse user behaviour, build funnels, identify drop-offs, and assess design outcomes.
  • Ability to conduct focused user research and usability testing, collect customer feedback, and turn findings into practical design decisions.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain design decisions and trade-offs and work closely with Product Managers, UX Writers, and Engineers.
  • Sound product judgement, with the ability to balance user needs, business goals, and development effort.
  • Ability to manage your own work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, raise blockers early, and take initiative when you spot opportunities to improve the product.
  • A portfolio showing your contribution, reasoning, and outcomes, including examples of working prototypes built with AI tools.

What's in it for you

  • You will become part of an amazing culture with smart, collaborative teammates who actually care about each other's growth and success.
  • You will grow more here than you would anywhere else, that is a promise.
  • Virtual events like talent shows, Among Us nights, and online game sessions to keep the fun going, no matter where you are!
  • We offer a highly competitive compensation package.
  • You'll receive a mental health allowance to support your health and wellness needs.
  • Flexible working environment and working hours that fit your lifestyle.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
