Job Summary:

We are seeking a strategic, data-driven Executive Director, Strategic Sourcing to lead Revance’s indirect spend portfolio while providing broader strategic oversight, governance, and process leadership across the enterprise procurement function. The role will be primarily accountable for developing and executing category and supplier strategies across indirect spend, with particular emphasis on Marketing and Sales, while delivering measurable improvements in cost, cash, service, supplier performance, and risk.

In addition, this leader will partner with the SVP, Global Supply Chain & Operations to help shape the company’s overall sourcing and procurement strategy across both direct and indirect spend and establish consistent procurement standards, processes, analytics, governance, and best practices across the organization. The Executive Director will serve as a strategic advisor to senior business leaders, bringing strong commercial judgment, fact-based analytics, and disciplined sourcing practices to influence demand, optimize total cost of ownership, strengthen supplier relationships, and deliver measurable enterprise value.

Success will require deep partnership with Finance, Marketing, Sales, HR, IT, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Legal to improve spend visibility, strengthen decision-making, accelerate value creation, and continuously improve procurement effectiveness.

  • Reporting to: SVP, Global Supply Chain & Operations
  • Location: Johnson City, TN onsite

Indirect Strategic Sourcing & Category Leadership | Approximately 80%

  • Develop and execute comprehensive category and sourcing strategies across the company’s indirect spend portfolio, with particular emphasis on Marketing, Sales Enablement, Professional Services, IT & Software, Travel, Facilities/MRO, HR, and Corporate Services.
  • Build, maintain, and leverage a company-wide spend cube to enhance visibility, identify sourcing opportunities, prioritize initiatives, consolidate suppliers, improve demand management, reduce maverick spend, and drive standardization.
  • Develop and manage a multi-year strategic sourcing pipeline and annual value-creation roadmap aligned with company financial and operational objectives.
  • Establish and deliver annual savings, cost-avoidance, working-capital, and supplier-performance objectives, partnering with Finance to ensure benefits are measured and reported through consistent and auditable methodologies.
  • Lead complex competitive sourcing events, including RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes, and develop sourcing strategies that balance total cost of ownership, quality, service, speed, innovation, and risk.
  • Lead commercial negotiations for complex agreements, including MSAs, SOWs, renewals, rate structures, service levels, KPIs, performance credits, payment terms, termination provisions, and other key commercial terms.
  • Partner with business leaders to challenge demand, requirements, and specifications where appropriate to identify opportunities for greater value without compromising critical business outcomes.
  • Establish supplier segmentation and performance-management practices for strategic indirect suppliers, including appropriate governance, business reviews, performance metrics, and continuous-improvement expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage enterprise purchasing scale, consolidate fragmented spend, optimize supplier relationships, and improve commercial terms across functions and business units.
  • Develop strong relationships with key suppliers and serve as an executive escalation point for significant commercial or supplier-performance matters within the indirect portfolio.
  • Lead, develop, and coach the strategic sourcing team, strengthening capabilities in category management, analytics, negotiation, supplier management, and strategic sourcing.

Enterprise Sourcing & Procurement Strategy and Oversight | Approximately 10%

  • Partner with the SVP, Global Supply Chain & Operations to develop and continuously evolve the enterprise sourcing and procurement strategy across both direct and indirect spend.
  • Provide strategic oversight and governance across the broader procurement organization to promote alignment of sourcing priorities, supplier strategies, risk management, and enterprise value-creation objectives.
  • Establish and monitor enterprise procurement performance metrics that provide leadership with visibility into spend, savings, sourcing pipeline, supplier performance, procurement effectiveness, and key supply or commercial risks.
  • Identify cross-category and cross-functional sourcing opportunities that leverage the company’s total purchasing scale and strengthen strategic supplier relationships.
  • Provide strategic sourcing and commercial expertise to critical initiatives outside the indirect spend portfolio, as appropriate, where enterprise leverage, executive-level negotiation support, or sourcing expertise can create additional value.
  • Partner with direct procurement and Supply Chain leadership to identify opportunities for greater alignment, common methodologies, supplier leverage, risk management, and procurement effectiveness while maintaining clear operational accountability.
  • Provide senior leadership with fact-based recommendations regarding sourcing strategy, supplier opportunities, procurement risks, and enterprise-wide value-creation opportunities.

Procurement Process Excellence & Standards | Approximately 10%

  • Establish and maintain enterprise procurement standards, policies, processes, governance, and sourcing methodologies across direct and indirect procurement.
  • Standardize core procurement practices, including category management, competitive bidding, supplier selection, negotiation preparation, contract governance, sourcing documentation, supplier performance management, and savings validation.
  • Drive continuous improvement of procurement processes to improve efficiency, compliance, transparency, scalability, cycle time, and stakeholder experience.
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, Quality, IT, Supply Chain, and other functions to strengthen procurement governance and clarify decision rights, approval requirements, sourcing controls, and accountability.
  • Develop and implement common sourcing templates, tools, methodologies, and playbooks that improve consistency and effectiveness across the procurement organization.
  • Advance the use of spend analytics, sourcing technology, dashboards, reporting, and decision-support tools to enhance procurement visibility and effectiveness.
  • Benchmark procurement practices and identify opportunities to increase organizational maturity and adoption of leading sourcing and procurement practices.
  • Drive adoption of procurement standards throughout the organization through stakeholder engagement, change leadership, training, and practical implementation support.

  • Proven ability to establish and scale procurement standards, processes, analytics, governance, and best practices across a complex organization.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
