We are looking for Underwriter Trainees to join our Underwriting team. In this position, you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and pricing deals by evaluating credit history, assets, the size of the cash advance requested, and determining payback terms.

Work Hours: Monday–Friday | Rotating shift of 2:30 PM - 10:30 PM and 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM

This role requires in-person attendance

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in a structured, multi-month underwriting training program designed to build proficiency in small business credit analysis, risk assessment, and pricing fundamentals.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to determine the creditworthiness of merchants, perform risk-based underwriting reviews of applications, which include the analysis of credit reports, bank statements, and various other business documentation, under the guidance of senior underwriters.
  • Perform detailed bank statement scrubbing, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency of financial information used in underwriting decisions.
  • Determine the merchant's financial capability to repay via in-depth review and verification of information.
  • Support senior underwriters in preparing deal summaries and preliminary pricing recommendations for small business funding, in accordance with internal credit policies.
  • Research applicants as necessary.
  • Interact with the internal sales team.
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement by incorporating feedback, completing required training modules, and progressing toward independent underwriting responsibilities.

Experience/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant professional certifications, training, or coursework in management, business, finance, or related fields is a plus.
  • C1 proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to recognize positive and negative trends in cash flow and banking activity.
  • Previous credit analysis or underwriting experience is a plus.
  • Prior experience in Bank Reconciliation.
  • Familiarity with US business culture.
  • Fluency with AI tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented and excellent skills in calculating risk

  • Decision-making and critical thinking skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to existing and new procedures, and in turn work independently in a reliable and trustworthy manner.
