Job Description

As an Intelligence Analyst at Rhombus, you will create impactful intelligence assessments on topics including foreign military activities, weapons development, regional conflicts, and country stability to support US and Allied national security decision making. Analysts will fuse Rhombus’s unique, AI-derived data with a spectrum of open-source information to create these products.

Our Intelligence Analysts routinely perform thorough research and analysis on global security topics guided by client intelligence needs. The outputs from these efforts are primarily conveyed through intelligence assessments written in accordance with U.S. Intelligence Community standards, however, analysts also deliver tailored briefings for internal and external audiences on topics in their areas of responsibility.

Candidates must excel at collaborative work and must exhibit strong interpersonal skills, as all team efforts depend on working closely within the intelligence team and with other cross-functional teams. Candidates should be able to provide and receive feedback that enhances overall team outputs.

Successful candidates will be solution-oriented self-starters who are tech savvy, can identify problems and opportunities, and propose solutions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ability to multitask and prioritize efforts are crucial due to the pace of global events and the sometimes rapidly evolving needs of our clients.

We are seeking a candidate with subject matter expertise in the Middle East and/or South Asia regions, preferably with experience in a military or government intelligence environment. The ideal candidate will possess significant knowledge of regional military capabilities, weapons systems, and tactics, with a focus on Iran and/or Pakistan. Candidates must have strong writing skills and be capable of producing a high volume of quality analytic assessments under tight deadlines and with minimal review. Candidates must also have strong writing and briefing skills and be adept at conveying analytic judgments.

A writing sample will be requested as part of your application for this role and is a requirement for consideration. All writing samples must be your own work and ideally will have been produced within the last 3 years. The sample should be between one and three pages in length and assess a geopolitical or international security-related topic.

Responsibilities

  • Identify impactful intelligence topics based on a detailed understanding of customer intelligence needs and missions.
  • Produce high-quality intelligence assessments that answer our customers’ most important intelligence questions by following U.S. Intelligence Community intelligence analysis and writing standards.
  • Utilize Rhombus’ AI-informed intelligence capabilities and expert research skills to gather information that serves as the foundation of intelligence products.
  • Identify information gaps and work with the Model and Data Development team to acquire sources of information to bridge gaps.
  • Utilize structured analytic techniques to ensure team intelligence products meet the highest standards.
  • Brief finished intelligence products.
  • Support enhancement of Rhombus intelligence capabilities by providing feedback on existing features and supporting the development of new applications and features.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for the Middle East and South Asia regions on matters relating to regional military capabilities, weapons systems, and tactics.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 (five) years’ analytic experience with subject matter expertise in military capabilities, weapons systems, and tactics in the Middle East or South Asia, with a strong preference for experience focused on Pakistan and/or Iran.
  • Analytic experience and training with the U.S. Intelligence Community or military is strongly desired.
  • At minimum, a BA or BS in International Affairs, Political Science, Economics, or similar social science. Advanced degree is desired.
  • Experience writing intelligence products tailored to answering key client intelligence questions.
  • Experience providing briefings on complex national security and international affairs topics.
  • Familiarity using and developing qualitative and quantitative analytical methodologies.
  • Intellectual curiosity and emotional intelligence.
  • We are seeking candidates that would be eligible for a DoD Secret or Top Secret security clearance. If you currently hold a clearance, please indicate the level and sponsoring agency.
  • Familiarity with data analysis, statistics, data science, big data manipulation, and coding (Python, etc.) is particularly welcome.

Benefits

  • Full medical, dental, vision coverage for employee and dependents
  • 401k matching program
  • PTO and Holidays
  • Bonus and other incentive programs
  • Access to mental health program

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
