Licensed Practical Nurse, IDD

Program Overview: This is a patient/client needs-based program; therefore, work schedules are not fixed. Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) must be flexible and available to work weekends, 8- to 12-hour shifts, and travel to various service locations as needed to meet client care requirements. Mileage reimbursement is available for eligible travel. Location/Schedule: Macon, GA - 36 hours 3-12-hour shifts between Sunday-Saturday and Every Other Weekend.
Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor patient’s vitals and record them in their file.
Maintain the cleanliness and comfort of each patient, including bathing, feeding, and dressing.
Assist nursing and medical staff with basic medical tasks, such as administering medication.
Update patient records in a confidential manner
Evaluate the patient’s wellbeing, reporting any needs to medical staff.
Explain treatments and procedures to patients and families.
Assists physicians and registered nurses.
Qualifications Needed (education and/or experience):
Current Georgia license to practice as a licensed practical nurse. At least 1 year working in behavioral health/ intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) or related field Must have good computer skills. Communications skills and the ability to foster good relationships among others is a plus.
