Education Nurse Practitioner - Masters in Nursing Nurse Practitioner License State of Virginia Nurse Practitioner Certification Physician Assistant - Master Degree Physician Assistant License State of Virginia Licensure & Certification (Required) Nurse Practitioner: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia. Active Virginia Nurse Practitioner license with a specialty designation aligned to inpatient care. National NP certification in the appropriate specialty: Family NP- FNP-BC or FNP-C Physician Assistant: Active and unrestricted Virginia PA license. Current NCCPA certification. Prescriptive Authority Requirements Active DEA registration (or eligibility). Eligibility for Schedule II–VI prescriptive authority in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Certifications Current BLS and ACLS (required for inpatient clinical settings). The ability to work in a fast-paced environment Qualifications Ability to make independent decisions regarding patient care Experienced in diagnosis and treatment of common medical conditions Basic working knowledge of managed care and Medicare population Pleasant speaking voice and demeanor Excellent communication skills Professional appearance Scope of Practice Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies Performs thorough physical examinations and assessments Assessment of health status Formulate patient care plans Performing Pulmonology consultations Provides counseling to patients about their care Prescribe tests and treatments / analyze the tests and treatments Document findings Basic computer skills Join a team that values collaboration, innovation, and compassionate care.
