Role Summary Rivian internships & co-ops are experiences optimized for student candidates. To be eligible, you must be an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited program during the entire internship or co-op term. Note that if your university has specific requirements for internship programs, it is your responsibility to fulfill those requirements. Our Spring Co-Op program runs from Jan - Aug, 2027. In order to be considered for this role, you must be available to work full time (40 hours per week), onsite, for the entire duration. Responsibilities Evaluate and optimize material delivery paths, inventory tracking networks, and warehouse routing across suppliers and Rivian sites. Analyze complex operational datasets using advanced Excel, SQL, or Tableau to identify supply chain bottlenecks and apply Lean principles to improve flow. Collaborate with direct procurement and external vendors to track parts shipments, reduce lead times, and mitigate component shortages. Partner with manufacturing engineering, quality, and plant management to align delivery schedules with high-volume production targets. Qualifications Active enrollment in an accredited Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related STEM field. Solid understanding of core supply chain and logistics concepts (inventory optimization, lead time reduction, cycle counts, warehouse layout, distribution management, and freight optimization).High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data manipulation (required). Applied knowledge and understanding of supply chain and operational first principles to streamline material flow. Demonstrated ability to solve complex supply chain problems and execute on actions and tasks as requested by your team. Capable of working as a member of a team across several cross-functional disciplines (procurement, manufacturing engineering, plant operations), including with external logistics vendors and suppliers. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Pay Disclosure Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Internships: The range of pay for internships is 25.00-51.00 per hour for Normal, Illinois based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.
