The posting

Overview:

Lead RMIT’s dedicated event technology support team HEW 7 | Continuing, full-time Combine people leadership, technology and service delivery in a highly visible role

Lead the technology team behind outstanding university events

Are you an experienced technology service delivery professional who knows how to lead people, coordinate competing priorities and keep services running when it matters most?

RMIT is seeking a Campus Technology Services Team Lead to lead the day-to-day delivery of dedicated audiovisual and technology support for events. The role sits within End User Technology in Information Technology Services and supports conferences, presentations, lectures, executive engagements and other significant university events.

You will lead a team of technology support specialists to deliver reliable onsite support, ensuring event organisers and presenters receive timely, professional assistance.

This is an opportunity to combine technical service leadership with highly visible, customer-focused delivery in a varied university environment.

What you will do

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, develop and coordinate a team of technology support specialists delivering high-quality onsite event and end-user technology services.
  • Oversee daily schedules, service queues, resource allocation and technology support for conferences, presentations, executive engagements and other university events.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex or high-impact issues, coordinating timely solutions with specialist teams, stakeholders and external partners.
  • Manage IT Service Management activities, ensuring incidents and requests progress effectively and services perform against agreed measures.
  • Use service data, customer feedback and root cause analysis to identify trends, reduce recurring issues and improve the customer experience.
  • Strengthen service delivery through effective reporting, process improvement, automation and the introduction of relevant technology enhancements

What will help you succeed

To be successful, you will bring:

  • At least five years’ experience in enterprise technology service delivery, with a strong focus on service improvement.
  • Experience leading or coordinating technical specialists, including allocating work, setting expectations and supporting team performance.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating operational work across internal and external delivery teams and contributing to large-scale service and technology change initiatives.
  • Experience managing end-user computing, audiovisual or event technology services within a large and complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience managing technology services using ITIL Service Management processes, supported by ITIL Foundation certification or a qualification in a relevant industry framework.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and complex escalations using sound judgement, service data and structured problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-management skills, with the confidence to work with technical teams, senior stakeholders, customers and external partners.

You will hold tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or bring equivalent relevant experience. Experience working in Agile operational or project teams will be advantageous.

Working arrangements

This is a continuing, full-time position primarily based at RMIT Melbourne City campus, with the potential to work across other campuses when required.

As the team provides dedicated technology setup and operational support for events, this is a highly visible, onsite role. Flexibility may be required to accommodate event schedules, service demands and activities outside standard business hours.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
