POSITION SUMMARY

The Cloud Platform Engineer is a highly skilled technical specialist responsible for designing, building and operating secure, scalable and resilient cloud platforms on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The role focuses on delivering complex technical solutions that enable reliable, cost-effective and well-governed cloud services for the organisation.

Working as a hands-on engineer, the Cloud Platform Engineer designs and implements core platform capabilities such as infrastructure-as-code, automation, monitoring, security controls and CI/CD pipelines. They collaborate closely with solution architects, developers, security specialists and operations teams to ensure that platform services are robust, standards-based and aligned to best practice.

This role provides technical leadership within a defined team, guiding peers on engineering standards, patterns and tooling, and assisting with the resolution of complex incidents and problems. While it does not carry the broad strategic remit of a Lead Engineer, the Cloud Platform Engineer significantly influences engineering quality, platform reliability and the adoption of modern cloud-native practices across their area of responsibility.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cloud computing, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud security, and support the adoption of modern engineering practices, tools and patterns within the team.
  • Monitor, analyse and troubleshoot issues related to cloud infrastructure, networking, identity and access management, CI/CD pipelines and associated platforms, working with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents and implement long-term fixes.
  • Develop, maintain and improve architecture artefacts, including design documents, runbooks, technical standards and configuration baselines for cloud platforms and their integration with on-premises systems, ensuring alignment with Solution Architect reference architectures and governance.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
