Overview

We are seeking a skilled and strategic Content Specialist to develop, optimize, and maintain content across Rogue Fitness. This role sits at the intersection of content creation, ecommerce, SEO, and LLMs, with responsibility for identifying content opportunities, producing high-quality content, and continuously improving existing pages to increase organic visibility, search performance, and customer engagement.

The ideal candidate combines strong writing and editing skills with an understanding of SEO, search intent, content strategy, and ecommerce. This role will work closely with Ecommerce, Sales, and Creative teams to develop content that is useful to customers, supports business objectives, and performs across traditional search engines and AI-powered discovery platforms.

This is a full-time, on-site position at our Columbus, OH facility. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. This position is ineligible for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute content strategies across Rogue Fitness' website, including blog articles, landing pages, product pages, and other customer-facing content
  • Conduct market research, keyword research, competitor analysis, and content gap analysis to identify opportunities for new content and inform editorial priorities
  • Research, write, edit, and publish high-quality blog content that addresses customer needs, search intent, and relevant topics within the fitness industry
  • Develop content briefs and collaborate with Creative teams for images and other visual assets that support content
  • Work closely with Sales and Ecommerce teams to develop and refine product page copy based on product information, customer needs, and business priorities
  • Audit existing website content to identify opportunities to improve accuracy, relevance, readability, search performance, and customer experience
  • Optimize page titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal linking, and other on-page elements to improve SEO performance and organic visibility
  • Continuously evaluate and improve content for discoverability across search engines and LLM-powered search and discovery platforms
  • Analyze content performance, search results, competitor activity, and industry trends to identify opportunities for ongoing optimization and new content
  • Collaborate with SEO, Ecommerce, Sales, and Creative teams to align content initiatives with organic search, merchandising, and conversion goals
  • Maintain content standards and ensure published content is accurate, consistent, up to date, and aligned with Rogue's brand voice
  • Stay current on developments in SEO, search algorithms, AI-powered search, LLMs, content strategy, and ecommerce best practices

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in content strategy, content production, SEO, digital marketing, ecommerce, or a related field
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to communicate complex topics clearly and concisely
  • Hands-on experience creating and optimizing web content, including blog articles, landing pages, and product pages
  • Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals, including search intent, keyword research, content gaps, on-page optimization, internal linking, and metadata
  • Experience using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, or similar SEO and analytics platforms
  • Understanding of how search engines and AI-powered search/LLM platforms discover, interpret, and surface web content
  • Strong research skills with the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and identify meaningful content opportunities
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Ecommerce, Sales, Creative, Product, or other teams
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple content projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Detail-oriented with a strong understanding of content quality, consistency, and accuracy
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about the fitness industry, including strength training, CrossFit, Olympic lifting, powerlifting, functional fitness, and related disciplines
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of projects from research and ideation through publication and ongoing optimization
