Roku is the #1 TV streaming platform in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, and we've set our sights on powering every television in the world. Roku pioneered streaming to the TV. Our mission is to be the TV streaming platform that connects the entire TV ecosystem. We connect consumers to the content they love, enable content publishers to build and monetize large audiences, and provide advertisers unique capabilities to engage consumers.

From your first day at Roku, you'll make a valuable - and valued - contribution. We're a fast-growing public company where no one is a bystander. We offer you the opportunity to delight millions of TV streamers around the world while gaining meaningful experience across a variety of disciplines.

About the Team

The Roku TV & Licensing team is looking for a Senior Business Development Manager with a deep understanding and experience in the TV industry to work closely with our Roku TV partners (factories, brand licensees, OEM/ODM) and Roku's cross-functional teams to analyze and make recommendations for engagement with new partners to integrate Roku's Operating System. This person will support the Roku TV teams by helping to manage new and ongoing programs at these partners.

About the Role

In this role, you will be required to review and contribute to global business planning and product requirements documents that align with and support Roku initiatives and our partners’ goals, objectives, and timelines.

The work we do can be challenging but impactful, and that's why we enjoy it so much. The ideal candidate isn't a bystander. They are curious and engaged, willing to jump in to solve problems and make data-driven decisions even when things feel very ambiguous. Our industry changes quickly, so we expect a great candidate to be comfortable responding to evolving business needs, knowing that their own success comes when the company and the larger team succeed.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage business relationships with partners that are located throughout the Americas, including Central America and Brazil
  • Facilitate discussions between Roku's teams and current and potential new partners & factories
  • Work with partners to establish short-term programs and long-term relationships to embed Roku's OS in their products
  • Collect, analyze, and present the partner's requirements to Roku's cross-functional teams and work to create legal agreements
  • Coordinate with Roku's cross-functional teams on new partnership engagements
  • Support program kick-off meetings and development efforts with partners & factories
  • Work with factories to ensure programs are running as planned
  • Work with partners on timely reporting and tracking of products with the Roku OS embedded
  • Organize and lead quarterly business and technical reviews
  • Advocate for product issues on behalf of the partners within Roku and influence internal teams to resolve the issues in a timely manner
  • Conduct market & product research to determine industry requirements & opportunities
  • Research, analyze, and report current market conditions for strategic consideration
  • Provide industry analysis. Identify competitive threats and create actionable reporting

We're excited if you have

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related discipline required
  • Business development &/or partner management background with a clear understanding of Consumer Electronics (CE) products and industry experience focused on TV, Audio, and streaming devices
  • Understand Operating Systems, SW architecture, and HW reference designs
  • Excellent knowledge of the TV and Audio industry and supporting technologies
  • Outstanding partner management skills, leveraging your strong business acumen and technical background
  • Experience working with ODM/OEMs and using data analytics & reporting to drive business decisions
  • 10+ years working with CE partners, focused on Latin American markets
  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills in English required
  • Fluency in Spanish & Portuguese preferred
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed

What's Roku's approach to hybrid working?

Our comprehensive benefits include global access to mental health and financial wellness support and resources. Local benefits include statutory and voluntary benefits which may include healthcare (medical, dental, and vision), life, accident, disability, commuter, and retirement options (401(k)/pension). Roku welcomes applicants of all backgrounds and provides reasonable accommodations and adjustments in accordance with applicable law. If you require reasonable accommodation at any point in the hiring process, please direct your inquiries to [email protected].

What should I know about Roku's culture?

Roku is a great place for people who want to work in a fast-paced environment where everyone is focused on the company's success rather than their own. We try to surround ourselves with people who are great at their jobs, who are easy to work with, and who keep their egos in check. We appreciate a sense of humor. We believe a fewer number of very talented folks can do more for less cost than a larger number of less talented teams. We're independent thinkers with big ideas who act boldly, move fast and accomplish extraordinary things through collaboration and trust. In short, at Roku you'll be part of a company that's changing how the world watches TV.

We have a unique culture that we are proud of. We think of ourselves primarily as problem-solvers, which itself is a two-part idea. We come up with the solution, but the solution isn't real until it is built and delivered to the customer. That penchant for action gives us a pragmatic approach to innovation, one that has served us well since 2002.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
