Long-Term Substitute Theology Teacher

Saint Francis Xavier Middle School, Weymouth

Saint Francis Xavier Middle School, a Catholic school committed to academic excellence, faith formation, and the development of the whole child, is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Theology Teacher to join our school community.

The ideal candidate will create a positive, faith-filled classroom environment while supporting students in their understanding of Catholic teachings, Scripture, and traditions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging Theology instruction aligned with the school's Catholic mission and established curriculum.
  • Follow existing lesson plans and develop additional lessons as needed using school-provided textbooks and curriculum resources.
  • Maintain a positive, respectful, and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Assess student learning, grade assignments, and maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate and collaborate with faculty and administration to ensure continuity of instruction.
  • Support the Catholic identity and faith-filled traditions of the school.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in Theology, Religious Studies, Education, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Catholic teachings and traditions.
  • Previous teaching or classroom experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
  • A commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.
  • Ability to complete required background checks and safe environment training.
