ABOUT THE ROLE

The Director of Sales will represent Rootstock Vaults as the sell side and find the buy side for its products. You will sign funds, treasuries and trusts, bitcoin holders and bitcoin companies as customers for dollar loans, dollar yield and, as they become available, bitcoin yield opportunities.

Success is a loan book that grows past RootstockLabs' own treasury on arm's-length customers who stay, at a spread that pays for the product.

You will work with the Director of Partnerships on distribution partners, Product team on offers and pricing, and Legal team on terms and checks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver and own the Rootstock Vaults sales plan: ideal customer profile and target list for each buyer type, conversion assumptions and a weekly forecast, delivered within your first 60 days
  • Run sales as a clean, repeatable process from month 3: qualify and check every counterparty before terms are shared, code every lost deal by reason, and keep the pipeline current in the CRM each week
  • Grow the arm's-length loan book to agreed targets across multiple borrowers, each loan priced at or above the credit-policy floor and at an agreed gross spread
  • Onboard an agreed number of funds as customers, buying dollar loans, dollar yield or, once approved, bitcoin yield, through the direct route or the fund cell
  • Bring in direct dollar supply from treasuries and trusts on competitive terms

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 10 or more years in sell-side roles, selling credit, lending or yield products to institutional buyers
  • Experience doing this job at least twice before at leadership level, with meaningful time in each role
  • Senior, proven relationships with family offices and high-net-worth clients, plus funds, treasuries and bitcoin companies, who can bring real capital and a book of contacts in our target customer base
  • Fluency in credit and yield products: secured lending, LTV, margin calls and yield against T-bills, with the ability to explain the risks plainly
  • A track record of building a pipeline from scratch: defining the ideal customer profile, sourcing and qualifying deals, and keeping strict CRM discipline
  • Strong negotiation skills, working within a credit policy
  • Bitcoin and on-chain fluency (Rootstock, custody, BPRO)
  • Compliance awareness: KYC and KYB, qualified counterparties and communication rules
  • Persistence, initiative and the flexibility to sell a young product in an open market
  • Integrity, strong listening skills, and clear oral and written communication
  • Calm under pressure, fast-moving and organized, with high standards for yourself and the team
  • Experience leading a mixed-skills team (business development, product structuring, sales, account management) and hiring A-players
