The posting

Overall Job Description

ROShell FZC is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control (QC) Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all materials, fabrication processes, assembly activities, and completed Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant systems comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming materials and components, including pipes, membranes, pressure vessels, pumps, valves, tanks, instruments, fittings, and control panels.
  • Verify the specifications, quantities, certifications, and physical condition of materials upon delivery.
  • Perform quality inspections during fabrication, welding, piping installation, skid assembly, electrical installation, painting, and final assembly.
  • Check dimensions, alignment, workmanship, pipe routing, labelling, and equipment installation against approved drawings and technical specifications.
  • Monitor the fabrication and installation of PVC, UPVC, CPVC, HDPE, stainless-steel, and FRP components.
  • Conduct or witness pressure testing, hydrostatic testing, leakage testing, flushing, and functional testing.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and verify that completed RO systems meet the specified operating and performance requirements.
  • Inspect electrical control panels, wiring, sensors, instruments, and safety devices in coordination with the electrical team.
  • Identify defects and non-conforming work and coordinate with the production and engineering teams to implement the required corrections.
  • Ensure all measuring and testing equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and suitable for use.
  • Verify that completed systems are clean, correctly labelled, adequately protected, and ready for delivery.
  • Maintain accurate quality records, material traceability, and project documentation.
  • Follow the company's health, safety, and environmental procedures, particularly when working with chemicals, epoxy resin, fibreglass, adhesives, and pressurised equipment.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits and recommend improvements to manufacturing and quality-control processes.

Documentation and Reporting Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain inspection reports, QC checklists, test records, and daily quality reports.
  • Record inspection findings accurately and maintain complete supporting evidence, including photographs where required.
  • Prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for defective materials or work that does not comply with approved specifications.
  • Monitor corrective and preventive actions and verify their proper implementation and completion.
  • Maintain material certificates, calibration certificates, incoming-material inspection records, and equipment test certificates.
  • Compile Manufacturing Data Records (MDRs), quality dossiers, and final project handover documents.
  • Maintain traceability records covering materials, components, fabrication, assembly, inspection, and testing.
  • Document pressure tests, hydrostatic tests, leakage tests, flushing activities, functional tests, and Factory Acceptance Tests.
  • Ensure all QC documents are properly reviewed, approved, filed, controlled, and easily retrievable.
  • Regularly update inspection statuses, punch lists, NCR logs, and quality-control trackers.
  • Coordinate with the engineering, production, procurement, and project teams to obtain missing, updated, or revised documents.
  • Verify that the drawings, specifications, procedures, and inspection forms used in production are the latest approved revisions.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly quality reports for management, including inspection results, defects, non-conformances, corrective actions, and recurring quality issues.
  • Provide the required quality documents and records during customer inspections, third-party inspections, and quality audits.
  • Ensure that workers are adequately trained and competent to follow and comply with approved work procedures.
  • Develop Quality Control (QC) Plans for projects and obtain customer approval where required.
  • Prepare and qualify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), ensuring compliance with applicable standards and verifying the qualification of welders.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least two to three years of quality-control experience, preferably in RO plants, water-treatment systems, piping, skid fabrication, or industrial manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, fabrication drawings, general arrangement drawings, electrical diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of RO systems, pumps, membranes, pressure vessels, piping, instrumentation, and control panels.
  • Familiarity with inspection procedures, quality documentation, material traceability, and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Knowledge of applicable welding, piping, electrical, fabrication, and pressure-testing standards is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
