We deliver successful construction solutions and customer value through superior effort and exceptional communication. Our longstanding history underscores our commitment to quality, safety, and client satisfaction. At Rossi Builders, our values of Empathy, Responsiveness, Communication, and Humility guide every project and relationship. We believe that understanding our clients and teams, being proactive and responsive, maintaining open and honest communication, and leading with humility are the foundation of our success. We are proud to serve the San Francisco Bay Area with top-tier construction services.

About the Role Rossi Builders is seeking a full-time, on-site Superintendent in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Superintendent is the key leader for all field operations, responsible for planning, organizing, and directing day-to-day construction activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to Rossi’s quality standards. This role provides direct supervision of field staff and subcontractors, coordinates trades and inspections, drives jobsite safety programs, and maintains clear communication with the Project Manager, Project Coordinator, and clients. The Superintendent plays a critical role in representing Rossi Builders on site and ensuring that our work reflects our reputation and values. Key Responsibilities: Lead the daily field operations for assigned projects, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contract documents. Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and addenda to fully understand the scope of work and sequence of construction. Participate in project kick-off meetings with the Project Manager and Estimator to review schedule, phasing, special conditions, subcontractor scope, and resource needs. Develop and maintain two-week look-ahead schedules, aligning field activities with the overall project schedule. Identify potential conflicts or constructability issues early and collaborate with the Project Manager, design team, and subcontractors to resolve them. Trade Coordination & Communication Coordinate and sequence the work of all trades to maintain progress and minimize conflicts and downtime. Conduct regular on-site coordination meetings with subcontractors and document meeting minutes. Ensure subcontractors understand Rossi Builders’ safety requirements, jobsite rules, schedule expectations, and quality standards. Maintain positive, professional relationships with clients, architects, engineers, inspectors, and neighboring tenants or building representatives. Safety Leadership Champion a safety-first culture on the jobsite, consistent with Rossi Builders’ safety program and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Conduct regular safety (tailgate) meetings with Rossi field staff and collect weekly safety meeting reports from subcontractors. Ensure all required postings (OSHA, state and local requirements) and MSDS/SDS documents are in place and job-specific. Immediately report any incidents, near misses, or safety concerns to the Safety Officer and Project Manager, and ensure required documentation is completed. Quality Control & Site Cleanliness Monitor work in place daily to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and Rossi Builders’ quality standards. Identify deficiencies early, direct corrections, and issue deficiency notices as needed. Oversee pre-punch and punch list activities; ensure outstanding items are completed in a timely manner. Maintain a clean, orderly, and secure jobsite; ensure all trades clean up daily and leave the site in excellent condition at project completion. Documentation & Change Management Maintain accurate daily logs of jobsite activities, including manpower, inspections, visitors, weather, significant events, and coordination with inspectors, architects, and owners. Track and document changes in the field, including T&M work and field directives, using Rossi Builders’ change order tickets and procedures. Coordinate with the Project Manager on all subcontractor change tickets prior to approval and ensure appropriate backup for time and materials. Ensure all required documentation (RFIs, bulletins, addenda, field modifications) is reflected on the current set of drawings. Labor, Materials & Equipment Forecast manpower needs and coordinate with the Labor Coordinator and Project Manager regarding hiring, assignments, and layoffs. Provide field onboarding for new hires, including safety orientation, PPE requirements, and job-specific expectations. Requisition materials, tools, and equipment needed for the project, ensuring they are delivered in time to support the schedule. Coordinate with the Equipment Manager on tool assignments, repairs, returns, and tracking of company assets; ensure proper care and cleaning of all tools and equipment. Project Closeout & Compliance Manage city bonds and public works permits related to the project and ensure all closeout requirements are met. Oversee project closeout tasks, including inspections, final cleaning, punch list completion, and return of unused materials and equipment. Ensure all field operations comply with Rossi Builders’ policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional technical training, trade school, or construction management coursework a plus. Minimum 5 years of experience in field construction, with at least several years in a supervisory or lead role. Experience with commercial construction in the San Francisco Bay Area strongly preferred. Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to build trust and accountability on site. Excellent organizational and time-management skills; able to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to changes in workload and schedule. Solid understanding of construction means and methods, sequencing, and trade coordination. Working knowledge of safety regulations and best practices (OSHA, Cal/OSHA, etc.). Comfortable reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and contract documents. Clear, professional communication skills (verbal and written) with clients, design teams, inspectors, and internal staff. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with sound judgment in the field. Proficiency in basic computer applications and construction documentation tools (e.g., email, PDF markup, scheduling tools, daily report software) is preferred. Physical & Work Conditions Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, and work on active construction sites for extended periods. Ability to work in varying weather conditions and in close quarters where required. Must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to job sites within the San Francisco Bay Area. Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
