About the role Rover is looking for a Director of Product Management to lead the Provider Product Group inside our Global Provider Organization. In this role, you will own the product strategy and execution of Rover's multi-year provider roadmap: concentrating investment on our most successful providers while engaging our broader community of caregivers to strengthen marketplace depth and develop a high quality pipeline. You will lead four product teams working in service to our care providers, improving their experience and how they interact with the marketplace at every stage of their journey. This is a high-impact role that requires a unique blend of strategic vision and detailed-oriented, hands-on execution. You will set multi-year product direction and drive rigorous, experiment-led execution. The role carries direct accountability for supply-side revenue, provider retention, and new-customer booking growth. This role reports directly to the Senior Director of Supply based in Barcelona, and partners closely with Data Science, Engineering, Design, Trust & Safety, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Legal, and the International Business Team. As a people leader, you will manage a team of product managers based primarily in Barcelona and coordinate with cross-functional teams across Europe and the US.
* This is a hybrid position that has the minimum expectation to work out of our Barcelona Office in the Poblenou neighborhood two days per week on Mondays and Thursdays. For this reason, candidates must be based in Barcelona or willing to relocate.
What you'll own
- Product Strategy and Vision. Own the multi-year provider product vision: translating Rover's provider strategy into a sequenced product direction and owning the narrative that aligns leadership, product teams, and partners behind it.
- Roadmap and execution. Own the product side of the organization's OKRs and the roadmap that delivers them. Ship a steady cadence of well-crafted, experiment-validated launches, landed with quality and followed through after launch until the customer outcome is proven or the outcome is learned.
- The voice of the provider. You will be the advocate for what providers actually want and need to grow and run top quality businesses, grounding every roadmap decision in customer research, feedback, and marketplace data, and representing that voice credibly in every executive conversation, including when it's inconvenient.
- AI adoption. AI embedded in product features such as assisted tooling, intelligent messaging, personalization and education, as well as fostering AI in how the team works (AI-accelerated discovery, prototyping, execution), while building a culture of AI-native development as the default.
- Cross-functional leadership. Hold alignment across Core Product Teams, Design, Engineering, Data Science, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Legal and Trust & Safety, and across regions, so that product investments reinforce each other globally rather than fragmenting by service, brand or country.
- A team that sets the bar. Hire, coach and grow a team of product managers who combine judgment, customer centricity, inspiring craft and speed.
Minimum qualifications
- 10+ years of product management experience, with meaningful time in marketplace, platform, or two-sided business contexts. Experience in the supply-side of the marketplace is a plus.
- 5+ years in people management or leadership roles, including managing senior product managers or leading cross-functional groups.
- Experience driving marketplace monetization — pricing, fee, or take-rate models — including designing, testing, and scaling pricing changes with measurable P&L impact.
- Track record of building retention, engagement, and loyalty strategies for a professional user segment (providers, sellers, hosts, drivers, or merchants). Experience partnering with Data Science and Engineering teams to create and execute on shared roadmaps and metrics, with rigorous experimentation practice (A/B frameworks, holdouts, long-horizon measurement).
- Clear and structured written and verbal communication style, with the ability to influence and partner with senior leaders and diverse teams to drive critical decisions.
- Highly proactive, comfortable operating with minimal guidance in uncertain and ambiguous business environments.
- Analytical rigour, with enthusiasm for modeling and measuring the impact of the initiatives you drive. Comfortable working with advanced analytical and visualization tools, such as Mode and Excel.
- Strong leadership skills and experience giving actionable feedback and coaching, and welcoming the same.
- Comfortable working across Europe (Central Time) and US (Pacific Time) timezones.
- Strong command of the English language (minimum C2 level). English is the official Rover language and is used every day with every stakeholder and communication. Bachelor's degree.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in online marketplaces with a meaningful supply side (gig economy, services marketplaces, accommodation, mobility, creator platforms, or similar).
- Experience with marketplace integrity problems: disintermediation and off-platform leakage, and incentive design that rewards loyal behavior.
- Experience building customer-centric tooling, business-management software, or 'operating system' products for independent entrepreneurs.
- Demonstrated success leading both 0-to-1 product bets and scaling existing product lines; comfort presenting to C-level and Board audiences.
- Master's degree.
