The posting

Ruder Finn is seeking an Account Executive to join rf.engage, our global center of excellence for internal communications, employee engagement and change.

This is an opportunity for an early-career communications professional to help organizations navigate change, strengthen the employee experience and connect employees to business priorities, purpose and performance.

As an Account Executive, you will support multiple client accounts and contribute to strategic communications, employee engagement, change and transformation initiatives. You'll conduct research, develop high-quality content, coordinate projects and help bring employee-centered programs to life across channels and touchpoints.

The right candidate is an excellent writer, highly organized and intellectually curious, with strong client-service instincts and attention to detail. You'll work alongside strategists, creatives, content specialists and analytics colleagues while building your expertise in internal communications and employee engagement.

Why join rf.engage?

  • Take on increasing responsibility while learning from senior leaders and contributing to consequential employee and organizational challenges.
  • Join a growing specialty practice with opportunities to shape new offerings, tools and ways of working
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Ruder Finn’s practices
  • Gain exposure to a varied portfolio of clients, industries and transformation initiatives
  • Build your skills through mentorship, meaningful client responsibility and opportunities to grow at a global, award-winning, independent agency

Location: We are flexible to this person working a hybrid or remote position; depending on location

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a strong understanding of each client’s business, strategic priorities, culture and employee audiences, and use that knowledge to inform your work
  • Take ownership of assigned deliverables and projects, managing timelines, trackers and next steps to ensure high-quality work is delivered on time
  • Create meeting agendas and recaps, project trackers, editorial calendars, activity reports and other account-management materials
  • Communicate clearly with clients and colleagues, proactively flagging questions, risks, competing priorities or and potential delays
  • Proofread and quality-check materials for accuracy, clarity, consistency and alignment with client and agency standards
  • Ask thoughtful questions to understand the business or organizational challenge behind an assignment, rather than focusing only on the communications deliverable
  • Bring relevant observations, examples and recommendations to client meetings, project discussions and brainstorms
  • You’ll create employee-centered communications and turn insights into action
  • Draft clear, engaging content that helps employees understand business priorities, organizational change and what matters to them
  • Support internal communications, employee engagement, change and transformation initiatives across a range of channels and employee touchpoints
  • Contribute to communications plans, messaging frameworks, engagement campaigns, executive and manager communications and channel content strategies
  • Develop emails, intranet content, executive and leadership communications; presentations, talking points, FAQs, key messages, manager toolkits, employee stories, surveys and other employee-facing communication materials
  • Tailor communications for diverse audiences, including frontline and non-wired employees, field teams, people managers, senior leaders and global colleagues
  • Support surveys, interviews, focus groups, communications audits and other research activities to understand employee needs, perceptions and experiences
  • Analyze employee feedback, research findings, channel analytics and communications performance to identify themes and help inform recommendations
  • Use AI, emerging technologies and new ways of working thoughtfully and responsibly to strengthen research, audience understanding, content development and workflow efficiency
  • You’ll collaborate, learn and help grow rf.engage
  • Partner effectively with colleagues across strategy, creative, content, analytics and other Ruder Finn capabilities
  • Manage competing assignments while keeping colleagues informed of progress, questions and support needs
  • Seek feedback from account and practice leaders and consistently apply it to strengthen your work
  • Be a collaborative teammate who shares relevant information, resources and context with colleagues and junior staff
  • Participate actively in brainstorms, rf.engage initiatives, professional development opportunities and agency activities
  • Stay current on employee experience, organizational change, communications trends, AI and emerging technologies and share useful ideas and examples with the team
  • Contribute research, insights, ideas and content to proposals, pitches and organic growth opportunities

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
