We are venture-backed and own a patented washable rug design that's disrupting the home décor industry. Serving as both the daily voice of Ruggable across our social channels—including Pinterest and Reddit—and the strategist who shapes how the brand listens to, responds to, and learns from its community, you will own day-to-day community management and community-facing strategy across channels, steer Pinterest strategy and editorial direction, and serve as our lead Reddit authority by steering editorial participation, executing strategies, and turning community conversation into voice-of-customer insights that inform social, product, and CX decisions.

What You'll Do:

Community Management Response Strategy and Execution (All Channels)

  • Serve as the daily responder across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, Threads, and Reddit; engage with comments, DMs, mentions, and tags in Ruggable's voice
  • Own day-to-day community management strategy: set priorities, drive consistent response quality, and maintain confidence in brand voice across platforms
  • Monitor sentiment, flag emerging issues, and escalate sensitive situations quickly and appropriately
  • Partner with CX to ensure customer questions and concerns are resolved and routed, with CX leading with a point of view on how to resolve issues while this role serves as the voice of the brand to shape those responses collaboratively, ensuring community responses align with support policies
  • Proactively engage with creators, customers, and relevant conversations to grow the community beyond our own posts
  • Define and maintain response standards, escalation paths, and community playbooks in partnership with CX and Social leadership
  • Proactively build relationships with core community members and key brand advocates across key platforms
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend new online communities, niche spaces, and emerging social platforms for Ruggable to actively engage in
  • Regularly share audience feedback with key stakeholders, demonstrating the ability to distinguish between throwaway comments and real strategic opportunities for the brand

Reddit Leadership - Engagement, Community Building & Editorial

  • Lead and execute Ruggable’s end-to-end Reddit presence and organic publishing strategy, leveraging deep platform expertise to drive brand affinity, establish community trust, and optimize content for LLMs and AI search discovery
  • Steer Reddit editorial strategy as a core workstream, defining participation frameworks, hosting AMAs, managing subreddit relationships, and leading proactive community-led storytelling beyond basic monitoring
  • Turn Reddit conversations and brand discussions into actionable VOC themes and strategic content opportunities for Social, Product, and CX teams

Pinterest Strategy & Community

  • Own and steer Ruggable’s Pinterest community strategy and editorial direction, grounded in audience intent (including “save”-driven engagement signals)
  • Set expectations for how Ruggable shows up across boards/categories and what “good” looks like for Pinterest content themes and community presence (in partnership with the teams responsible for creative/content)
  • Translate Pinterest engagement and community conversation into VOC themes and content opportunities for Social and CX
  • Establish Pinterest KPIs and reporting cadence (engagement, save-related signals, audience growth, and emerging content themes)

Strategy & Operations

  • Define community KPIs, response standards, and reporting cadence for community health and learnings
  • Maintain response playbooks, escalation paths, and crisis protocols
  • Manage social listening and community management tools
  • Support the Director of Social and Social Coordinator on campaign moments and launches as needed
  • Contribute regular updates to the team newsletter regarding recent community activities and key learnings

What You'll Need:

Required:

  • 8+ years in community management or social engagement for a consumer brand, ideally with strong direct-to-consumer or e-commerce experience
  • Proven ability to manage and steer community strategy across multiple channels, not just “responding”
  • Strong Pinterest fluency, including the ability to translate platform signals (e.g., saves/intent and community engagement patterns) into editorial and community direction
  • Deep expertise building, scaling, and managing an authentic brand presence on Reddit, with a strong understanding of reddiquette, subreddit culture, and conversational trends
  • Exceptional writing skills with the ability to adapt tone seamlessly across platforms and nuances, especially in community-centric spaces like Reddit
  • Experience partnering with CX or support teams on voice, escalation, and customer resolution
  • Strong judgment in sensitive or high-visibility situations
  • Comfort with social listening tools and community analytics
  • Highly organized, responsive, and able to work independently with daily consistency

Preferred

  • Experience in home, design, or lifestyle categories
  • Experience producing VOC or sentiment reporting for cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with Sprout, Sprinklr, Brandwatch, or similar platforms
  • Experience with CX platforms such as Gorgias, Zendesk, or Kustomer

Employment Details

  • Type: Contractor (independent contractor, full-time), 1099
  • Rate: $70-88/hr
  • Location: Los Angeles, CA, and Torrance, CA; minimum 1-2 days in the office, plus additional on-site collaboration as needed
  • Duration: 12-month contract with potential for extension or conversion
  • Hours: Full-time (approx. 40 hours per week); daily monitoring and response, with availability for quick-turn and sensitive situations
  • Start: As soon as possible

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to shape how a category-defining brand shows up in community conversation
  • Real ownership of day-to-day community management across channels, with strategic stewardship of Pinterest and Reddit editorial steering
  • A collaborative, design-driven culture that values sharp writing, sound judgment, and customer empathy
  • Competitive hourly rate

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
