Our Client are an international garden design, landscape build and maintenance company with over 25 years experience. They are based in Celbridge, Co Kildare and uniquely only focus on high end residential garden design, build and maintenance. They also have a six-acre nursery with a garden centre and café. Focused exclusively on sizable residential garden projects, we carry out all external works, hard landscaping, and planting with a focus on instant maturity.

Job Title:

Maintenance Crew Leader

Salary: €40,000 to €45,000

We are interested in speaking with a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Crew Leader to lead the maintenance teams to ensure the high-quality upkeep of clients gardens and outdoor space. You will be responsible for the daily oversight of maintenance crews, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. This role combines hands-on technical work with leadership and administrative duties.

Job Description and Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate a crew of employees.
  • Training: Provide on-site training for new members and monitor daily performance.
  • Operations Management: Plan and schedule daily tasks, including lawn care, pruning, hedge cutting and seasonal planting. Ensure all projects align with design specifications and client expectations.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the safe operation of machinery such as mowers and blowers.
  • Health & Safety: Enforce safety protocols, ensuring all crew members wear PPE and follow manual handling guidelines.
  • Administration: Complete daily job reports and timesheets.
  • Materials: Track material usage and provide cost/time estimates for projects.
  • Chemical Application: Safely apply weed control chemicals and fertilizers in compliance with environmental regulations.

Necessary Skills and Attributes:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Crew Leader or similar role, preferably in the landscaping or construction industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Honest and straightforward communication with both customers and team members.
  • Full clean drivers licence
