About Rune

Rune Technologies builds mission-critical software for military logistics and sustainment. Our flagship product is TyrOS, an AI-enabled logistics command and control platform that gives commanders a single, real-time operating picture of their sustainment fight, from inventory and distribution to medical and operational planning, even in degraded and contested environments.

We're not a traditional defense contractor. We're a small, fast-moving team that combines deep operational experience in and with the DoD with the software discipline of the best product companies, and we apply that combination to a customer set that desperately needs it. We stay close to our users by embedding directly with military units during exercises and rotations, and we ship constantly based on what we learn.

The U.S. military and its allies face a real logistics modernization problem. We're building the software to solve it.

About the Role

Rune is redefining the future of military logistics through rapid growth and relentless innovation. Rune’s Growth team is responsible for conceptualizing, identifying, shaping, capturing, and growing new business opportunities and capabilities for the company. As a growth professional at Rune, you’ll lead the charge in transforming defense logistics by unlocking new business opportunities in the complex environment of tactical military operations and defense acquisition. We’re looking for professionals who understand the nuances of military operations and decision making, advocate for emerging high-tech solutions, and can navigate complex relationship and market dynamics. If this is you, join our team and collaborate closely with our engineers and mission managers to change the face of military logistics by shaping and capturing opportunities that empower our warfighters and bolster national security.

What You’ll Do

- Report to the company’s Head of Growth and work closely with the Chief Executive Officer to execute capture opportunities to drive top-line growth within the U.S. Navy.

- Identify, pursue, and capture new business opportunities within the U.S. Navy directly and through strategic corporate partnerships.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, mission success) and the company executive leadership team to align business goals and initiatives.

- Represent Rune at industry events, trade shows, and government meetings to enhance brand visibility and business opportunities to validate and showcase TyrOS capabilities, gather user feedback, and refine the product based on real-world scenarios.

- Develop relationships with key decision-makers across the military logistics and sustainment community to enable Rune capture efforts.

- Oversee a business development pipeline, tracking progress from lead generation, through shaping to final contract award.

- Lead proposal development efforts, including RFP responses, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations to position Rune for Program of Record capture.

Qualifications

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships within the defense technology sector.

- High ownership mindset; we’re looking for motivated individuals who are biased to action and to assume responsibility for their capture efforts and the growth of the company.

- Sound understanding of the U.S Navy, business development, contract structures, and proposal/solicitation processes.

- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to government and military stakeholders; experience selling software preferred.

- Willingness to travel 25-50% to drive capture efforts through customer engagements within the military.

- Bachelor’s Degree required.

- Must have an active U.S. secret security clearance.

Benefits

Rune offers top-tier benefits for full-time employees to include a full suite of insurance options at no cost for employees and low-cost to spouses and dependents. Highly competitive equity grants are also included in the majority of full time offers and are considered part of Rune's total compensation package. Benefits include:

- Full 401(k) retirement plan for all full-time eligible employees

- Company-funded commuter benefits

- Free access to on-site gym at office

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
