IT and HIM Leadership Opportunities Across Alaska

Rural Staffing Services partners with rural hospitals, clinics, Tribal health organizations, regional health systems, community health centers, long-term care providers, and community healthcare organizations throughout Alaska to identify experienced information technology and health information leaders who understand the unique needs of rural, remote, and frontier healthcare.

We are currently connecting with professionals who may be interested in active and upcoming IT, information systems, health information management, medical records, clinical informatics, cybersecurity, privacy, data, and technology leadership opportunities across Alaska.

These opportunities may include leadership within:

Critical Access Hospitals Rural and community hospitals Rural Health Clinics Federally Qualified Health Centers Tribal health organizations Regional health corporations Village-based healthcare programs Long-term care and senior care organizations Integrated rural healthcare systems Multi-site and regional healthcare networks

This Is More Than an IT or HIM Role

Technology and health information are central to nearly every part of modern healthcare.

In Alaska, dependable technology can also be essential to connecting patients, providers, clinics, and hospitals across enormous geographic distances.

IT and HIM leaders help ensure employees have reliable systems, patient information is protected, records are accurate, telehealth connections remain available, and technology supports safe, efficient, and coordinated care.

These leaders may oversee everything from infrastructure, connectivity, cybersecurity, EHR systems, applications, technical support, and business continuity to medical records, privacy, coding oversight, data integrity, release of information, and information governance.

In rural and remote communities, technology failures may affect far more than routine office work. They may interrupt telehealth visits, delay referrals, limit access to patient records, disrupt communications, or make it more difficult to coordinate care between a village clinic and a regional hospital.

The strongest rural IT and HIM leaders understand that technology is not simply about systems.

It is about people, communication, trust, access, and making sure employees have the tools and information they need to serve their communities.

They are practical, responsive, collaborative, and able to explain complex technical or regulatory issues in ways that employees, providers, executives, and governing leaders can understand.

Why Rural Alaska?

Alaska's healthcare organizations serve communities spread across mountains, forests, tundra, rivers, islands, and thousands of miles of coastline.

Some communities are connected by highways. Others may be reached only by plane, boat, snowmachine, or seasonal transportation.

These distances make dependable technology and accurate health information especially important.

A stable network, secure EHR, reliable telehealth connection, accessible medical record, or responsive support team may determine whether a patient can receive specialty guidance without leaving home or whether a provider can safely continue care during an emergency.

Rural and remote healthcare organizations may also operate with smaller teams, limited local technical resources, challenging connectivity, aging infrastructure, and significant pressure to protect sensitive information.

Strong IT and HIM leadership can modernize systems, strengthen cybersecurity, improve documentation, protect patient privacy, support employees, and create better connections across entire regions.

Leading IT or HIM in Alaska offers the opportunity to see the direct impact of your work.

You may help connect a remote clinic to specialty care, strengthen cybersecurity, implement a new EHR, improve data quality, support a regional telehealth program, mentor local employees, or create systems that allow healthcare teams to work more safely and efficiently.

The work requires adaptability, creativity, persistence, cultural humility, and a genuine commitment to service.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
