Role Purpose

The Senior Software Engineer - Sabio Applications will take technical ownership of the development and ongoing evolution of a Sabio application that integrates with Genesys Cloud for administration. This is a hands-on engineering role with clear accountability for turning the agreed product roadmap into reliable, supportable software.

You will work closely with the Genesys team to design and deliver new features, improve application performance and roll out new versions to existing customers. You will own development quality across the application, make practical engineering decisions and ensure releases can be deployed and operated safely in customer environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day technical development of the Sabio application and deliver features against the agreed product roadmap.
  • Design, build, test and maintain full-stack application features across the user interface, backend services and integration layers.
  • Work closely with the Genesys team to define and deliver features that integrate with Genesys Cloud administration capabilities.
  • Take features from technical design through implementation, automated testing, release and post-release support.
  • Improve application performance, reliability, maintainability and operational visibility as the product evolves.
  • Plan and deliver new application versions to existing customers, considering compatibility, deployment risk and service continuity.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues across the UI, backend, real-time communications, message processing, cache and AWS infrastructure.
  • Maintain appropriate automated test coverage using Playwright and Jest, supported by peer review and disciplined source control.
  • Provide clear estimates for development work and identify technical risks, dependencies and blockers early.
  • Maintain technical documentation and contribute to engineering standards and reusable development patterns.
  • Work with product, delivery and customer-facing teams to translate roadmap requirements into practical, supportable technical solutions.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

Essential

  • 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience with clear evidence of working as a hands-on, seasoned developer.
  • Strong full-stack engineering experience across frontend, backend, APIs, integrations and cloud-hosted services.
  • Commercial experience with Vue.js and React.js for modern web application development.
  • Strong Node.js, Express and TypeScript development experience.
  • Automated testing experience using Playwright for UI/end-to-end testing and Jest for JavaScript/TypeScript testing.
  • Experience designing and supporting real-time application behaviour using sockets.
  • Experience with message brokers and asynchronous/event-driven processing patterns.
  • Practical experience using Redis for caching, state or application performance use cases.
  • Hands-on AWS experience, including CloudFormation, ECS, DNS services and container-based application stacks.
  • Strong Git and GitHub working practices, including branching, pull requests, code review and collaborative development.
  • Experience supporting production applications and troubleshooting problems across the full application stack.
  • Ability to own technical delivery against a roadmap and balance new features, technical debt, performance and release risk.
  • Clear communication and the ability to work effectively with engineering, product, delivery and customer-facing teams.

Genesys & Product Delivery Experience

  • Experience integrating applications with enterprise SaaS or contact centre platforms through APIs, events or real-time interfaces.
  • Genesys Cloud development or integration experience is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of contact centre administration, configuration or operational workflows is desirable.
  • Experience maintaining a software product used by multiple customers, including version management, upgrades and backwards compatibility, is strongly preferred.
  • Experience balancing roadmap delivery with live-service reliability, customer issues and ongoing engineering improvement.

Technical Stack

  • UI: Vue.js, React.js, Playwright.
  • Backend: Node.js, Express, TypeScript, Jest.
  • Application and integration: sockets, message brokers and Redis.
  • AWS: CloudFormation, ECS, DNS and container stacks.
  • Engineering workflow: GitHub.

Success in the Role

  • The application roadmap is converted into well-designed features delivered predictably and to an agreed level of quality.
  • New versions are rolled out to existing customers with controlled risk and clear technical ownership.
  • Application performance and reliability improve as the customer base and feature set grow.
  • Technical issues and dependencies are identified early rather than becoming late delivery surprises.
  • The relationship between Sabio application development and the Genesys team is effective, with clear ownership and practical collaboration.
  • The codebase remains maintainable, testable and supportable as the product evolves.
