What you will have an opportunity to do:

Shula’s Steakhouse at the Hilton University of Florida Conference Center is looking for a dependable and motivated Line Cook to join our culinary team. The Line Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality food according to established recipes and Shula’s standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.

This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, works well in a fast-paced kitchen, and is committed to delivering a consistent, high-quality dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients, cook, and assemble dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Ensure food is prepared accurately, consistently, and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain proper portion control and minimize food waste to help keep costs within budgeted and forecasted ranges.
  • Restock ingredients and supplies at the workstation to maintain smooth and efficient service.
  • Complete daily and shift-specific prep responsibilities within established timeframes.
  • Set up, maintain, and break down the assigned station according to restaurant and kitchen standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation, including kitchen equipment, tables, shelves, and surrounding areas.
  • Monitor the quality and freshness of ingredients and products.
  • Follow all applicable food safety, sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards.
  • Properly store, label, date, and rotate food products as required.
  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and leadership to support smooth service.
  • Work collaboratively with other culinary team members to ensure timely and accurate ticket execution.
  • Follow all Hilton and Shula’s Steakhouse standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Line Supervisor, Shula’s Chef, or Executive Chef.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous line cook or restaurant kitchen experience preferred.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
  • Ability to follow recipes, portion standards, and food safety procedures.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical requirements of a kitchen position.
  • Availability to work the scheduled 3:00 PM–11:00 PM shift, including weekends and holidays as business needs require.
